WELCOME DAVID HEIMANN
Dear Parishioners of St. Andrew Parish,
I am very pleased to come to St. Andrew Parish as the new Pastoral Associate. I am
coming to you following 16 years of ministry experience working at St. Ignatius Parish in
Chicago, and most recently St. Isidore Parish in Bloomingdale, IL.
I grew up in Collinsville, IL which is just east of St. Louis MO. I attended Catholic
elementary school at St. John Neumann and went to St. Louis University High School. For
college, I headed out to Washington D.C. where I received a Bachelor of Music in Music
Theater Performance. After spending a year volunteering with the Jesuits in St. Louis, I
moved to Chicago where I began to pursue my career as an actor and later a director. I
have received a Jeff Award for Supporting Actor in a Musical and continue to direct critically
acclaimed shows with Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Company where I also serve as
Company Manager.
Shortly after my move to Chicago, I began working at St. Ignatius parish where I
simultaneously began working on Masters of Divinity and certification as a Lay Ecclesial
Minister for the Archdiocese of Chicago, both of which I received in 2006. Since 2008, I
have been the Director of Youth Ministry at St. Isidore parish in Bloomingdale, IL. I am really
looking forward to being here at St. Andrew parish and walking with you as we all journey
together on our path closer to Christ. Please help me to get to know you and let me know
how I can support you and your family as we engage in the important work of being a parish
together.
In Christ,
David Heimann

Women who think they are pregnant
and are in difficult situations, come
to us for help, an ultrasound and
counseling. Each year our counselors
help approximately 3,000 women and
their families. In our 31 years of service
we have enabled over 38,000 mothers to
give birth to their babies and provided
material and emotional help. We are
funded by donations.
Plan to attend our 5k Bike/Hike for
Life on Saturday, September 12th from
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We’ll be at two
locations: Chicago’s northwest side at
Caldwell Woods (Milwaukee and Devon
Avenues) and in Oak Forest at Yankee
Woods near 167th and Central Ave.

Principal’s Update!
Hello Everybody!
Summer is winding down and we hope that these final days of Summer Break are filled
with all good things as you prepare your students for the rigors of another exciting year at Saint
Andrew School!
In last week’s update we announced our new teachers and classroom changes for
2015/2016 with one important exception. Mrs. Trisha Abdoo, who has taught in our Second
Grade for the past two years will be moving to First Grade teaming with Ms. Lauren Ackermann.
We are excited at our new line up and are confident that they will all do a great job working with
all of our students.
Also, last week I mentioned that our Back to School Breakfast would be held at
Mystic Celt, this is not correct. Our Back to School Breakfast, on August 31, will be held at Finley
Dunnes beginning at 8:15am. Finley Dunnes is located at 3458 N. Lincoln Avenue.
Don’t forget our Ice Cream Social at 4pm on August 27 and our meet and greet in the
classrooms at 3:30pm.
Good habits are for life! Help us finish the job by attending Sunday Mass with your
children.
Thank you for being part of this Blue Ribbon School! AA
