GEOCONCEPT E-learning
Self-learning sequences within the pedagogical program adapted to specific
needs of the clients
Associated with user customizable feedback and face- to-face
sessions, GEOCONCEPT offers a wide range of learning benefits
in @-learning, built on an innovative and sustainable principle.
They enrich the pedagogical experience highly, and ultimately,
enhance the users’ skills.
This service is a part of complete pedagogical experience adapted to the expectations of all: speed of implementation,
sustainability of the achievements... with the possibility to view at leisure the self-learning sequences. It is constructed in
«blended learning», a mixture of asynchronous sequences of self- learning, few virtual classroom monitoring and a face to
face meeting.
Sequences of self-learning
41 self-learning sequences, divided into 14 modules, compose the two steps of pedagogical experience. They are part of the
Essentials and Themes features to master whatever the problem and the profession of the learner.
A self-learning sequence consists of a video, no more than 5 minutes, in which the learner step by step discovers how to
achieve a specific operation from the function of its software operation. The learner, who does not only content oneself by
viewing the file, must respond by manipulating the recorded scenario. Each sequence ends with a mini- quiz that checks the
information acquired.
Each section is organized as follows:
- Presentation of theoretical concepts to know;
- Interactive learning of the operating mode of the features;
- Summary quiz with answers and possible revision exercise
with Geoconcept.
For an expanded and continuous learning, the sequences
are accessible in web mode to ensure progressive and
customized training. It is strongly recommended to follow
a sequence per day to ensure an effective and sustainable
training. The administrator of the training platform can
control the learning pace of the learners by sending email
messages. The final validation of acquired is made by a quiz
combining theoretical questions and practical exercises
for using the software. The answer is commented in virtual
classroom by an expert trainer.
Services Range
▲
Essential Part
Philosophy and basic principles:
before starting
the self-learning sequence, Geoconcept offers you to immerse
yourselves in the same philosophy as that of GIS through some main
principles.
Querying the database:
the tools for finding objects
based on their attributes and geographic position.
Tables: configuration and setting of your list of objects.
Graphic manipulations: the basic tools to be able to
move you through Geoconcept maps.
Selection of objects: become familiar with different ways
of selecting and displaying attribute data of surface, line or point
objects.
Manipulation of layers:
the means at your disposal to
display or hide different objects and save its configuration.
Appearance of objects: modify the appearance of your
objects (color, texture, thickness…).
Structuring data – building a model:
the tools
allow to organize and to prioritize all objects.
▲
Themes part
Enrichment:
the advanced possibilities of import and
enrichment of objects and of their attribute data.
Thematic mapping:
the main themes proposed by
Geoconcept for mapping of attribute data (representation of a rate,
quantity, qualitative data).
Spatial analysis: study of a territory by topological relation
between objects (isochronous, buffer area…).
Geometric operations:
transformation of objects by
geometric manipulations (union, grouping, intersection…).
Mobility: possibilities of creating routes or searching proximity to
improve the control on your territory.
Dissemination of data: how to make a page layout for
printing a document or how to integrate the map in a PowerPoint.
Face-to-Face sessions
One day face-to-face is essential for follow-up and in-depth learning. A preliminary interview over the phone allows the expert
trainer to understand the needs of the learner in respect to its profession and to validate the training schedule over the day.
Skills transfer uses databases and standard sheets as support provided by the expert trainer. It is intended to convey expertise
on the feature requirements and implementation, but also to formulate a work methodology to carry out the work expressed by
the learner.
