EXCLUSIVE HOMEBREW 101 EXPERIENCE
This one-of-a-kind experience will teach you the
basics to get up and running with your own batch
of beer in an entertaining, social and casual setting.
This 4 to 5-hour homebrewing workshop, designed
for the uninitiated novice or the beginning brewer, will
take place at the Stone Cellar Brewpub where you and your
entourage (up to 12 people) will snack on Stone Cellar’s
amazing appetizers and sample flights of microbrews ($175 food
and beverage credit) while being introduced to the art, science,
and fun of homebrewing. During this hands-on opportunity you
will experience all of the stages of brewing beer. You will brew a batch (you select the
style of beer) using an extract kit, bottle a pre-made batch and learn how to avoid the
most common homebrew pitfalls. Participants will take home all reference materials,
easy recipes to go to the next step—brewing without a kit, and two bottles of the same
style of homebrew you selected to brew during the workshop. This workshop will
be instructed by Terese Barta, Ph.D., avid home brewer, microbiology professor in
the Department of Biology, and developer of the Microbiology for Brewers program
at UW-Stevens Point. Terese will be joined by a Stone Cellar Brewpub Brewmaster.
This 4 to 5-hour workshop shall take place on a Saturday afternoon/evening between
December 5, 2015 and June 1, 2016. Dates are subject to availability.
