Pottery, circa 1902-03.
Today iridescent at Pewabic Pottery are fired much the same
way they were during the Arts & Crafts Movement a laborious three firings, rather than the two used in most other
pieces. This process combined with the beautiful and unique
nature of the glazes, produces a wide variation in finish,
resulting in extraordinary one of a kind pieces. (The vase
will hold water, but plant food cannot be added).

S31. 1918-1925
“End of the Day”
Lampshade
“End of the day” lampshades were unique since
they were the last lampshade produced at the end
of the day and often used
whatever paint colors were
left and were painted in a
random pattern.
This circa 1918-1925
“end-of-day” reversepainted shade is possibly Bradley and Hubbard. It consists of
six painted glass panels mounted in a gold-painted white
metal frame 22” wide. The frame has a repair in it. When not
lit, the shade is a dark aquamarine and when lit, it displays
random colored lines in blue, red and green. The shade sits
on a gold-painted white metal base 26”high. Don’t miss this
opportunity to own this very special piece.

Piece: Boston
Society of Arts and
Crafts Porringer
This Colonial Revival
style wrought sterling silver porringer, crafted by
James T. Woolley, is an excellent example of the direction
and style of The Society of Arts and Crafts Boston. Like
many of the metal workers in Boston during the first part of

style (between 1907-26) which celebrated the forms and
craftsmanship of items made during the founding of our
nation. Woolley has been credited with being as adept at his
craft as the great Arthur Stone, dean of American silversmiths. The antique porringer measures 7.75” in length x 5”
wide, x 1.75” high and is inscribed: “AUG 24, 1914;
