PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Preschool-12th grade Parent/Teacher Conferences are Wednesday, October 14th and
Thursday, October 15th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Mrs. Davis will have her conferences on
Wednesday, October 14th and Wednesday, October 21st due to a high school volleyball
conflict. Mr. Gunter, Vocal Music; Mr. Nathan, Band Director; Mrs. Portis, Art; and
Mr. Petersen, Resource will be at the elementary on Thursday, October 15th.
You received a schedule for your elementary conference time in last week’s Friday
Envelope. If you need to change your conference time or lost your sheet, please call the
ELEMENTARY OFFICE at 402-625-2141.
FALL BOOK FAIR
The Fall PTO Book Fair will be held October 14th-15th in the library. The
money raised during this Book Fair will go toward the purchase of new
library books. The classroom teachers will take their students to preview
the books on Monday, October 12th. The Book Fair will be open to make
purchases on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 7:45-8:00 a.m.
and Monday & Tuesday from 3:20-3:45 p.m. On Wednesday &
Thursday the Book Fair will be open from 3:20-8:00 p.m. during
Conferences to make purchases.
ANNUAL TITLE I MEETING
The Annual Title I Reading
meeting will be Wednesday,
October 14th at 4:00 p.m. in
Mrs. Thomas’ room during
Parent/Teacher
Conferences.
STUDENT COUNCIL OFFICERS
On Tuesday, October 6th the Student
Council elected the following students as
officers for the 2015-2016 school year:

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
We will again be having a Pumpkin Decorating Contest during the week of
Parent-Teacher Conferences and the Book Fair. Each class will be decorating
a pumpkin next week for display in the library the week of October 12th-16th.
Students may vote for their favorite pumpkins by bringing in loose change
Monday through Thursday from 7:45-8:00 a.m. Parents can vote for their
favorite pumpkins during the two conference nights, too. The class that raises
the most money will receive a special treat from Mrs. Coleman, and each
student will be rewarded with a book of their choice from the Book Fair.
HEALTH SCREENINGS
The school nurse, Amy Krajicek, will continue the routine
screenings on the Preschool, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students.
These screenings will include vision, hearing, dental, height,
weight, and head lice. If your child wears glasses, please
make sure they have them at school. Thank you!
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
The Student Council will be sponsoring a “Box Tops for Education”
Classroom Contest from October 5th-28th. If you need more forms
to put the Box Tops on, the classroom teachers have extras.

GIRL
SCOUT MEETING
The Daisies and Brownies will
have
a meeting on Monday,
October 12th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at
the
elementary.
CUB SCOUT EVENTS
Boy Scouts will start collecting hats, gloves,
coats, blankets, etc. for the Night Watch for the
homeless from now until December 21st.
There will be a Den meeting on Monday,
October 12th at the elementary at 6:00 p.m.

FONTANELLE POST CARD & COUPON
Camp Fontanelle invites all Yutan PTO supporters to join in this fundraiser when they visit Camp Fontanelle Pumpkin
Patch & Corn Maze. Camp Fontanelle will take $1.00 off of each admission to the corn maze, Laser Tag, Pony Rides, or
Zip Line when you present the postcard provided. In addition, $1.00 of each admission will be donated back to the Yutan
PTO. This offer is good for regular weekend hours plus the special Scary Maze Nights and cannot be combined with

other
offers or group discounts. The Pumpkin Patch opens Sunday, September 20 and is open
st
every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-7:00 p.m. through Sunday, November 1 . See postcard for other special
