Chinese automaker
mulls plant in Mexico
A delegation of officials and businessmen from China’s Anhui province expressed interest in installing an
automotive assembly plant in the
southeastern Mexican state of
Yucatan with an eye toward the U.S.
market.
The group was received by state
Gov. Ivonne Ortega and senior members of her administration.
At the meeting, the Chinese businessmen also said they were interested in investing in the Mexican
housing sector, as well as promoting
trade with Yucatan.
The manager of the Anhui Jianghuai
Automobile Group Co., Ltd., Jiao
Hao, outlined the company’s plans for
international expansion, the Yucatan
provincial government said in a communique.
Among those plans is setting up a
factory in Mexico to make exports for
the U.S. market, the communique
said.
Jiao said the company has an assembly line in Brazil, which supplies
some 50,000 units per year to South
America.
“Our idea is to produce a similar
quantity of vehicles in Mexico for
distribution, first light trucks and then
cars,” the Chinese businessman said.
Gov. Ortega said that land is available in Yucatan for building a plant
near the port of Progreso, which
would facilitate the export of vehicles
and replacement parts.
The Yucatan Peninsula on the Gulf
of Mexico is strategically located for
reaching the coasts of several states
in the U.S., Ortega said.

Blacks. So, there is some good
news for Hispanics in this study.
Nonetheless, these drops have created wealth disparities among
Americans that are the largest in
almost three decades.
Why has this happened? I cannot speak to the drop in Black
wealth but I can within Hispanics.
Most of Hispanic wealth was
accumulated under Ronald
Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill
Clinton and George W. Bush and
it came from two sources: Residential real estate and business
formations.
Hispanic home ownership and
business formations took off under Reagan and continued up to
the economic collapse of 2008.
Home ownership in middle aged
and older Hispanics surpassed the
national average. Hispanic business formations grew to three
times the national average.
Of course, new businesses need
working capital so when banks
stopped lending in 2008 Hispanic
and other businesses started contracting, letting workers go and
closing. Then the mile-wide, inchdeep corrupt Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac mortgage backers
plunged into the depths of red ink
while Democrat-appointed executives like Franklin Raines and Ms
Jamie Gorelick skimmed off hundreds of millions of dollars in “bo-

and severally liable with the minor for any damages resulting
from the willful misconduct”.
The financial responsibility of
the parent or guardian is limited
to $25,000 for each unlawful act
of the minor. And, the parents or
guardian are obligated to pay for
the court costs, attorney’s fees, and
damage to property including
graffiti painted by their minor children. And, section 272 of the California Penal Code is similar to the
laws of many states, which makes
it a crime to “Contribute to the
Delinquency of a Minor.” This
law is violated if parents/guardians “fail in their legal duty to exercise reasonable care, supervision, protection, and control over
their minor children.” This is a

Parents of first time juvenile offenders are usually given a choice

A 1996 law allows judges to order parents or guardians to pay up

“underwater” where home values

they lost their homes. In the case
of Hispanics, their residences

Their wealth disappeared in a tsunami of plunging values, unemployment and fraudulent foreclosures by corrupt banks and Fannie

Poof, there went Hispanic
wealth.
Unlike the majority white population, Hispanic wealth was concentrated in their homes while
White wealth is more diversified.
For example, Hispanic participation in equities (mutual funds,

Most Hispanics are clueless

That was evident when I did live

were good. People needed cars

panics weren’t hit as hard in the
Great Depression of the Thirties
for the simple reason they didn’t
have much at its beginning except
their ability to work.
Hispanics were an invisible minority in the country despite their
numbers in the Southwest and

until WWII when hundreds of
thousands of them served in the
American Combat Arms with
great distinction for the simple
reason that they were allowed to
serve in all units and weren’t segregated like Blacks were.
An economic setback for Hispanics is just that, it is not a social
setback, it is not an educational
setback – Hispanics are better educated than ever. It is not the end
of days and it is temporary. Hispanics will come roaring back soon.

La Mano con Ojos is
based in the central state of
Mexico, which surrounds
the Federal District and
forms part of the Mexico
City metropolitan area,
Garcia Montoya, who
claims to have served in
the marine corps and as a
police officer, said.
“I was trained to kill,”
Garcia Montoya says
during his videotaped
interrogation, adding that
he took courses on
explosives and military
tactics.
The videotaped
interrogations of suspected
criminals are often made
public in Mexico, with
many of the subjects freely
confessing to the crimes
they committed.
La Mano con Ojos controls drug
dealing in Huixquilucan, located
in the Mexico City metropolitan
area, officials said.
The gang, known for beheading
its enemies, has been fighting for
control of the drug trade in the
cities of Naucalpan, Atizapan,
Tultitlan, Cuautitlan Izcalli and a
section of the capital.
A total of 18 men and two women
have been killed by the gang in
Mexico state since November
2010, officials said.
A man’s headless body was left
hanging off the Paseo Interlomas
bridge in Huixquilucan, one of the
wealthiest cities in Mexico state,
on Monday.
The body was strung up by the
legs and the head was left inside a
trash bag on the bridge,
Huixquilucan police chief
Gerardo Oyervides said.
“A sign with a message
supposedly signed by the La Mano
con Ojos criminal organization
was found” on the bridge, the
police chief said.
