WINTER 2015
president’s
Dear Customers and Friends,
corner
I am pleased to present you with the 2015 Winter First Edition
newsletter. The holiday season is upon us, and I would personally
like to invite you to join us for cookies and cider at our Holiday
Open House on December 22 and December 23 at any of our
seven locations.
This past year has been a busy one for all of us here at First
National Bank as we continue to find ways to better serve you.
Earlier this fall, we opened our new West Ames Office located
at 3334 Lincoln Way, offering one more way for you to bank.
We also continue to host our Kids Bank program in our
West Des Moines and Johnston communities, which offers a
live bank, with student tellers and a student board of directors
at the Hillside and Timber Ridge Elementary Schools. Kids Bank
provides a great financial education opportunity to encourage
healthy savings patterns for local students.
Our employees have been involved in a variety of community
activities. We recently wrapped up our Shoes That Fit campaign
for 2015, and I would personally like to thank everyone who helped
make this campaign a success again this year! First National
Bank employees volunteered for many United Way programs,
including the Day of Caring and through our annual employee
campaign with which we raised a total donation of $19,440 for
the United Way. We are also pleased to sponsor many events

EMV Chip Cards
You may be hearing about the latest
technology in debit and credit cards,
called chip cards. A chip, which
is embedded into the card, stores

making the transaction more secure.
Each time you use your card at a
