Founded in 1968 as the International Week of Fantasy and Horror
Movies, today it is organized by a private Foundation, and most of its
resources come from collaborating companies and institutions that
consider their alliance with the Festival to be an excellent platform for
branding and widening their scope.
The Festival is an unrivalled setting for solid sponsorship actions,

The very best fantastic genre movies have been programmed at

On 2013, The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival has been declared “Qualified Festival” by
the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences®. That makes Sitges able to present its awardwinning shorts from its Official and Animation sections as candidates for the Oscars®.

Summary of the omnibus survey prepared in September 2012
El Sitges Festival is the number two Spanish festival in popularity. Age segment that has more knowledge about the
festival is 20 to 45 years, with a similar level between men and women.
In Catalonia, the Sitges Festival is very well known and therefore it could be interesting for reinforcing the presence of a
brand in this area.
The media outlet that has contributed the most to publicizing the Festival is television but the press and radio have also
Attendance at the different festivals is limited, however the Sitges Festival has a greater capacity for generating
attendance than the better known film Festival -San Sebastian-.
Keeping in mind its attendance, the movie-goers that have the most in common with the Sitges Festival de Sitges are
men age 25 to 54, living in Catalonia.
Most of the Spanish population agrees with the Festival’s scope, both its popularity and its internationalization.
The Spanish population holds a good opinion of brands associated with the film world: more than half agree that
