It’s That Special Time of Year!
This time of year is always special, as we turn our attentions to the holidays. We’re here enjoying the
warm Conejo Valley in the fall and winter months, racing around in our summer-like apparel, while
we watch friends and family in other parts of the country hunkering down for, well, not so hospitable
weather.
This time of year is also when many of us are involved in charitable events, including fundraisers, food
drives, and other kinds of giving . . . because that’s what we do here. It’s amazing how tremendously
supportive our communities are and how they pull together to help so many others.
And, at this time of year, we are presented with loads of activities and entertainment to break up the
shopping trips and parties; something for everyone. Conejo365 is where you go to keep track of it all.
The events we run in the magazine are also posted on our website at www.conejo365.com. You can
even add your own programs right here. If you register on our website, we’ll keep you current on all
the Conejo happenings by e-mail.
As always, we want to give a special shout out to our advertisers, who make it possible for us to
publish Conejo365 at no cost to our 60,000-plus readers. If you received this issue of Conejo365 in the
mail, it’s because the company featured on the cover of this issue helped make it available to you. So
that we may continue to get our magazine to you at home, please take a moment and make a quick
call to your sponsor. They will appreciate it.
We continue to strive to make the magazine and our website more useful and important to you as
a guide to everything going on in the Conejo Valley and beyond. Keep those cards, letters, e-mails,
and Facebook messages coming to let us know what you think and how we can make Conejo365
even better.
Sincerely,
Mike Corridori
Editor-In-Chief
P.S. Look for the Conejo365 booth at the 24th Annual Thousand Oaks Street Fair this year
on Sunday, October 18. We’d love to meet you in person. Stop by, let us know how you like the
magazine, and, maybe, win some special prizes when you visit us.

Point (2750’) and a close view of a Balanced
Rock. We will return on the Mishe Mokwa Trail,
passing Split and Echo Rocks. (PCH 16 miles west

Each year, Southern California experiences some 10,000
earthquake tremblers, any one of which can cause
irreparable damage to your masonry fireplace, which
you may not even notice. Eventually, this can lead to
your chimney collapsing or dangerous gases escaping
into your attic or living spaces. Many homes in our
area were built with “precast concrete fireplaces,”
which are now particularly hazardous because a vast
majority of them have cracked or failed and need to be
replaced.
Since 1976, Altmann Construction has been helping its
neighbors rebuild or replace damaged fireplaces and
chimneys caused by quakes and weather deterioration.
We can also add a gas-only fireplace to almost any
location in your home.
