remaining members are associates
working in closely related fields within
the housing industry, such as mortgage, finance, Realtors®, building
products and services.
Why Do Business with
an HBRA Member
If you're in the market for a new home, you should shop for your builder as
carefully as you shop for your home. Since Vermont does not require licensure for contractors it can sometimes be difficult to make an informed buying
decision. This is where the Home Builders and Remodelers Association can
be a helpful guide.
The HBRA serves its members in a variety of ways, which in turn benefits
consumers. Through education, including business management, professional
designations, customer service, construction techniques and more, the
Association strives to improve the business performance of members. By working with an HBRA member, consumers know they are working with an individual and/or company committed to professional growth.
HBRA members have access to local, state and national resources for industry
information, research and technical expertise. Through publications,
tradeshows, seminars and conferences, members have exposure to the latest
building products and services. With these opportunities available to them,
association members can provide value-added insights and cost-saving techniques to their customers.
Membership in the HBRA is a choice and one that requires the commitment
of annual dues. The individuals and/or companies who join the HBRA have
sought out the services the association provides to help them maintain high
standards in all aspects of their business.
Today’s home building industry requires skilled craftspeople and knowledgeable professionals who are, at the same time, modern businesspeople committed to quality and a solid code of ethics. The HBRA helps these professionals
in their challenge of wearing many hats and constantly staying abreast of the
latest industry trends, new building technology, innovative financing plans,
changes in state and local building codes and ordinances and much more.

Annual Golf Tournament
Our 21st Annual HBRA / Hackett Valine & MacDonald Golf Tournament will be

play featuring teams of four. There is an 11 AM Registration and a 12 PM Shotgun start. Registration Fee: $120 per player (includes bagged lunch, 18 hole

Vermont Builder Quarterly Magazine & E-Builder:
The HBRANV is pleased to announce its partnership with

The Vermont Builder magazine is published in January, April, July

advertising! Anyone can advertise in Vermont Builder magazine

This is a national program that was set-up as an asset for
Home Builder Associations to be able to offer their members

General Motors Vehicle Discount Program:
This program offers members a $500 allowance towards a
lease or purchase and may be combined with some of GM’s

Membership Directory and Buyer's Guide:
The Membership Directory and Buyer's Guide is published
yearly. A copy of the Directory is sent to every member of the
HBRANV and is also given to the general public at the Vermont
Home & Garden Show. Advertising opportunities are available

We receive about 50,000 hits per month on our website from people
looking for homeownership services and assistance. One of our
members even sold a house off of our website!! All of the HBRANV
business is bid out to our membership first, as our association’s
business practice is to “Do Business with a Member”. There is
definitely business to be gained by joining our organization!
Events and Networking Opportunities:
The HBRANV offers a variety of opportunities to improve your
bottom line through networking with other industry professionals.
Networking opportunities include: Franklin County Mixers,
Monthly Educational Classes, Holiday Party, Golf Tournament,
Better Homes Awards Banquet, and Committee involvement.
There are typically six Franklin County Mixers per year that
cover an array of topics. This is a wonderful way to meet others
in your industry and learn more about topics that are critical to
your business. The meetings are held monthly and are announced
in the monthly newsletter and on the HBRA website. Networking
with others in one's specific industry is invaluable to any business
person. The building industry is no exception. Learn from your
peers while working to improve the industry.
Membership in the NAHB:
When you join the HBRANV you automatically become a
member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Builder members receive a free subscription to Builder Magazine
(Associate members can call to receive this at a reduced rate), a
national building industry monthly publication. As well as a 20%
discount on all publications of the NAHB Library and Research
Center, free legal, technical, and business management advice
from experts in the housing industry, to name just a few. The NAHB
is currently ranked No. 11 on Fortune’s Power 25 Advocates list;
and is the nation’s highly respected voice of housing. The more
