Our academic students had a 95% success rate in the most recent Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, higher than the
provincial average. Our graduates have continued their education at some of the finest educational institutions in North
America and abroad. We even offer world-class university and college education in our own area.

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board covers almost 7,000 square kilometers, with 32,000 students housed
in 76 elementary and 15 secondary schools.
Our schools are vibrant learning communities where we encourage hard work, personal responsibility, independence

for students, to help all students meet with success.

Municipality of Clarington
The fastest-growing community in the KPR School Board and one of the
fastest-growing areas in Canada, Clarington has much to offer. The lovely, safe,
small urban communities of Bowmanville, Courtice and Newcastle are on the
shore of Lake Ontario, in contrast with scenic towns, farms, woods and ridges
located inland. Clarington is in the southwest corner KPR, the area closest
to Toronto. It is home to about 90,000 people. As part of the larger Durham
Region, Clarington borders on the city of Oshawa, home of Ontario’s newest
university, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Oshawa also has

University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT)
Just a short drive outside of Clarington, UOIT offers unique, innovative programs and the latest technologies
for learning. Its programs range from business, education and health, to information technology, science, the
humanities and more. UOIT also is home to the Energy Systems and Nuclear Science Research Centre (ERC), a
premier training ground for future energy scientists and nuclear engineers. International students are welcomed

Durham College
Durham College shares its main campus lands with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. It also
has a Skills Training Centre in nearby Whitby. Its programs vary from business, information technology and

Northumberland County
Welcome to Northumberland County, a flourishing community that offers a
