Placements 2013-14 : An Overview
IICT Bhadohi conducted the final placement process for the 10th Batch “ Class
of 2014” between October 2013 to May 2014. Despite tough economic
conditions, the industry’s response during the placement season reinforced
IICT’s continuous emphasis on academic excellence. A total of 20 companies
participated in the final placement process with roles spanning across
Spinning, Carpets, Dyeing, Testing, Merchandising & General Management.
Students were offered diverse roles across sectors & multifaceted roles as well
like Shift Officer, Manager, Jr. Merchandiser, Lab Technician, etc. The
diligent efforts towards building a long term strong industry academia
interface has resulted in exclusive hiring from IICT Bhadohi.
Placement Domains
Yarn Manufacturing: The field in which India is a global leader also saw the maximum number of
placements. Students were offered roles of Shift Officers across industries. Cotton spinning was the
most favoured sub-domain. The highest salary packages were also offered in this domain. The
major recruiters were Trident, Vardhman, Nahar Group & Threads India.
Carpets: The major recruiters in this field were, OBEETEE, Jaipur Rugs, Tulsiram Rugs, Agni
Carpets, ABC Carpets, & Chinar Carpets & Welspun. Managerial & Merchandising roles were
offered.
Processing: The major recruiters for placements in Dyeing & Printing were Welspun, Alps
Industries & Vardhman
Technical Textiles & Garments: For the first time this additional avenue was included in the
placement scenario. The major recruiters were, Tarasafe & Alok Industries.
Weaving & Testing: There were some openings for IICT in these fields too. The main players were
Vardhman & Bureau Veritas.

offered a technical portfolio of ‘Playing
Captain’ position & selected one student
after a rigorous aptitude, psychometric &
personal interview test.
Salary Package: 9 lac per annum CTC.
