Chairman Of The Golf Committee’s Salutation
TEE–OFF FOR A CAUSE – Sustaining The Endeavors Of The
FPI Through The Years By Means Of The FPI Golf Classic
Renato R. Ermita
As the Federation Of Philippine Industries (FPI) was forged out of the fires of necessity, it has strived to consolidate, establish and assert
itself, being the paladin that has exclusively looked after the welfare and interests of the Filipino producers, together with the local manufacturing
sector of the country’s economy.
Since the establishment of FPI in 1991, the Federation has become very actively involved in major concerns affecting industry such
as international trade agreements & unfair trade practices; finance & investments; power/energy & environment; labor, productivity &
competitiveness; tariff & taxation; preventive & punitive measures against economic offenses, i.e., anti–smuggling interventions and other
relevant issues. Accordingly, the FPI has not only become the “Voice of the Industry” but the champion of it as well, bestowed by no less than
Pres. Arroyo herself, during the Federation’s 16TH Annual General Assembly held last August 13, 2007.
The Federation believes that it has achieved several milestones because of its strong advocacy work with the unceasing support of its
members. And with most of the local companies affected by globalization, FPI is all the more committed to intensify its research and activities on
advocacy in order to help retool the domestic business firms towards growth, profitability and global competitiveness.
The Federation, in a manner of speaking, not unlike the underlying principle of the game of golf itself, for the past 16 years, has
remained true and consistent to the very rationale of its existence.
Consequently, synthesizing a sporting competition and a fund raising activity into one exhilarating event makes the truism – “the
synergy of work and play for a noble cause, makes Juan dela Cruz a hearty and competitive boy” nowhere more significant than now in the
holding of the 6TH FPI Golf Classic Tournament.
For that reason, the raison d’être the Golf Classic is held annually is to nurture and enhance FPI’s advocacies, initiatives and activities
for the benefit of the local industry and to further strengthen the networking capabilities and camaraderie among the companies, as well as,
concertedly meet head-on the challenges similarly confronting Filipino business establishments.
In view of the foregoing, on behalf of the Golf Committee, the FPI Board Of Directors and the Federation’s Secretariat, I extend
my exuberant acknowledgments to all who have made this meaningful activity possible, namely - the Sponsors, Donors, the Media and the
Management Team of the Tagaytay Midlands, composed of Messrs. Jerry C. Tiu & Dan L. Salvador III, President & Golf Director, respectively and
Mesdames. Mabel B. Martinez - General Manager & Yasmin G. Cadungog – Sales Director.

The FPI Golf Classic Logo
A perfect balance between man and industry.
An excellent fusion of purpose and camaraderie.
This is the story behind the new FPI Golf Classic Logo.
So we see a man and the Federation’s symbol in equal sizes.
With the latter slightly tilted to also creatively represent the golf green.
Concord Signing Between The FPI Golf Committee Officers And
Autohub Group Management Team Last February 08, 2008
Thus, as the classic sport is a natural extension of FPI’s quest for life, drive for
excellence and globally competitive spirit, the FPI Golf Classic Logo also emanates
from the Federation’s green and gold emblem – the latter implying that natural
resources undergoing the creative hands of man can become gold, the highest
standard of commerce.
As the fusion of logo elements graphically illustrates “infinity”, it also celebrates
FPI’s continuing unity, camaraderie and unending commitment to the
advancement of industry and the enhancement of the environment.

THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
As the FPI is holding its yearly Golf Classic Tournament, I convey my most heartfelt welcome
to all the participants and appreciation to those had made this very consequential activity a reality
once more.
San Miguel Corporation - Continuing To Blaze Trails Into The Global Economy
Established in 1890 as a brewery, San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is Southeast Asia’s largest publicly listed food, beverage and packaging company
with over 27,000 employees in over 100 major facilities throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.
One of the Philippines’ leading business conglomerates, San Miguel carries the brand names of some of the most formidable players in the Philippine
food and beverage industry, including San Miguel Pale Pilsen, Ginebra San Miguel, Monterey, Magnolia, and Purefoods. San Miguel Beer--the company’s
flagship product--is one of the largest selling beers and among the top 15 beer brands in the world.
Today, San Miguel is built around closely related businesses: beverages--both non-alcoholic and alcoholic--food, and packaging. Each of which are
dominant in their respective segments, holding No. 1 or No. 2 positions in their markets.
In no small matter, the proceeds of this activity will most assuredly sustain the FPI’s advocacies
in the months to come redounding for the benefit of all the concerned social stakeholders.
In addition to its market leadership in the Philippines, SMC has established significant presence overseas. The Company’s manufacturing operations
extend beyond its home market to Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia; and its products are exported to 60 markets around the
world.
Continuing a tradition of product quality, San Miguel is capitalizing on its unique strengths in creating and developing brands to weave its products
more deeply into the fabric of the regional consumers’ everyday life.
Again, my thanks at Mabuhay Tayong Lahat !

Over time, Nissan Patrols has always stood for luxury. Overhauled and redesigned, the new breed of the Nissan Patrols is sure to move
more ways than one could ever imagined.
Those who patronize and epitomize the Nissan Patrol embody
this principle. More than a badge of mere power, the Patrol transcends its
meaning to having the ability to do more good.
Therefore, it should not be enough to measure as an icon for
strength, but to personify power with a purpose!
It surpasses expectations of a 4wheel drive. The new Patrol is
leaner, meaner but extremely refined in demeanor.
The undisputed luxury, SUV 4-wheel drive of choice of the rich,
society’s affluent, statesmen and celebrated citizens, this top-class luxury vehicle, retains its revered status for meaningful might.
It sports a powerful 252 horsepower 4.8 litre TB48DE engine
(Gas Variant). This is supported by a 5-speed automatic transmission with
manual-shift mode for unmatched on and off-road performance.
A fuel-efficient ZD30DDTi engine, on the other hand powers the
diesel variant. This hyper advanced engine offers all the benefits of diesel
But
beyond
the elegant specs, the Nissan Patrol Super Safari is
all about people … accomplished and influential people
who have arrived and yet conto make a difference and change
Patrol Super
tinues
their world for
to strive
the better.
The Nissan Patrol Super Safari celebrates extraordinary people and will carry on the
underlying principle of making a difference in other people’s lives.
Tough on the outside and exquisitely supple on the inside, this vehicle embodies the most
inspiring of individuals.
Like the company CEO who drives to far-flung villages during weekends to help build
homes for the homeless. Or the accomplished chairwoman who doesn’t mind baking for street children and serving other charities.
These inspiring individuals embody what the Patrol is all about:
POWER WITH A PURPOSE.
Which is why, clearly, if there would be a vehicle for vehicles of positive change in
society, it could only be the Nissan Patrol Super Safari.
