Santa Claus to Visit
Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport
Santa will land at Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport, 520 Airport Road, at 1:00 p.m. on
Saturday, December 19th this year! Take your own picture of your children, young and old,
while they are sitting on his knee telling him their Christmas wishes. Come out and enjoy
some hot cocoa, candy canes, and Christmas cheer.
All are welcome to this FREE event sponsored by the Guthrie-Edmond Aviation Association and fine local businesses, including hot chocolate provided by Rick’s Fine Chocolates and

Shop Local this Christmas
Oklahoma is the only state in the nation
where municipalities rely on sales tax as
their only form of tax revenue to fund operations. The sales tax on purchases you buy
locally returns to your community, not just
benefiting businesses owned by your friends
and neighbors, but also by helping to fund
road maintenance, water system improvements, parks, public safety, the library, and
other services that help make Guthrie a
great place to live!
Staff Spotlight:
Aaron “Cat-daddy” Ryburn,
GTV20 Production Coordinator
Length of time working for the City of
Guthrie: 4 Glorious, fun-filled years
Favorite thing about Guthrie: The Genuine
and Unique People that make this community special! I also love working for the city
alongside people that have heart and determination to make this city be a bright
city on a hill!
Favorite memory/story from your position:
Too many to share, but each one has left
me thankful for working with and for the
greatest people on the planet! I love when
I produce a video and my supervisor Jim
(the best boss ever!!!) says to me, “Way to
put some lipstick on that pig!” I’d like to
share how I got the nickname “Catdaddy”,
but that was after hours with Jim Ahlgren
and Damon Devereaux.
Personal interests: I love to fish and spend
time with family and friends. I love coming
to Guthrie on the weekends and talking
with people from all walks of life.
Your
favorite
vacation
destination: Somewhere private, desolate and quiet
with beautiful scenery! Or I’d settle for Guthrie, any day!
Describe yourself in one word: Rounded
Finish this sentence: People would be surprised to learn that I…was a cheerleader in
high school (‘cause I got to hang out with the
prettiest girls in town, yes I know that was a
genius move!). I also was Santa Claus for the
Anadarko, Oklahoma Christmas Parade for 8
years in a row, and I started a Christmas Display in Anadarko near Chickasha.
Best advice to others in 25 words or less: Live,
Laugh, & Love like it’s your last day on earth!
If you were able to have lunch with one famous person, who would you choose? John F.
Kennedy, just to ask him what would he want
his legacy to be.
