The Guthrie Tartans were developed
by the late Colonel Ivan B. Guthrie of
Guthrie. The three designs are:
* DRESS or ANCIENT TARTAN
(old colours) – a dark blue & green
plaid with red/orange stripes.
* BATTLE or WEATHERED
TARTAN (muted colours)–the same
pattern but primarily brown & bluish
gray with red stripes.
*MODERN TARTAN (dark colours)
– follows the same pattern but
primarily dark navy & dark green with
red stripes.
GUTHRIE TARTAN MATERIAL
* Check with your tailor or seamstress
to determine how much of this 56”
wide material you’ll need. But, plan
to enjoy the resulting garment for
decades, as this fabric wears & wears!
