BEETLE
“Chopping,” or cutting out a section of the roof to lower it, is popular with Hot Rods, but rarely (if ever) is it done to a brand new
car! GAS took this 2013 VW Beetle 6-Speed Turbo and chopped 5.5” off the A-pillars and 2.5” off the B-pillars, giving it that retro,
classic “Chopped Top” appearance. GAS also deleted the rear side windows, added custom hand-fabricated
metal rear air scoops, then lowered the Beetle with Neuspeed lowering springs and sway bar. This bug features
black leather interior and headliner is accented with red stitching, 20” 3-piece Forgiato handmade rims (in the
style of the original EMPI Porsche wheels of the 60s) and the tinted exterior lights complete the sinister look.

The 3rd installation of Galpin Auto Sports custom Gassers, this ’57 Ford post car is powered by a 302 that was
bored and stroked to 331, produces 502HP, and is backed by a Borg Warner 4-speed transmission! This Galpin
Gasser also sports fender well headers, a chrome Currie 9” 411 posi rear end with chrome Lakewood ladder bars,
and has an original Ford straight axle front end. The custom Gold Pearl paint is emblazoned with hand-laid, real Gold
and Silver leaf lettering. The Cool White on Pearl White diamond patterned interior with Gold
foil piping meshes with the Black/Gold speckled custom carpeting. The inside is complete with
a Hurst 4-speed shifter, classic Mooneyes old school gauges and chrome roll bar.

This Shelby show car, which debuted recently at the Quail Lodge Motor Sports Gathering during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, was
designed and customized by GAS. Starting with a 2012 Shelby GT 500, the “wide-body” feature is an all handcrafted sheet metal fabrication,
making the body 9” wider and includes sealed rear quarter windows. The paint color is Aston Martin Morning Frost Pearl White. Galpin Auto
Sports had custom three-piece wheels made by Forgiato. This vehicle also has a complete custom Crimson Red raised grain leather interior,
even the trunk! Power upgrade comes from a Ford Racing/Shelby supercharger, with 750HP on tap. Also added are
audio output at 1,000 watts with crystal clear sound.

a Ford Focus! It seemed impossible, but GAS loves a challenge. With sound design and engineering by GAS, Ford, multiple Grammy Award-winning
record producer Don Was, and Krish Sharma, this Focus has multi-track recording capabilities built around a protools native DAW, Apogee Symphony
by BAE, dbx dynamics and Empirical Labs compressors. Capturing the audio onstage are microphones by Neuman, AKG,
Sure and Marshall. Headphone monitoring by Little Red Box and Sennheiser complete the audio circle and allow recording to

the passing of automotive legend Carroll Shelby,
who was a valued lifelong friend. Galpin Ford was
the first Shelby Dealer in California, and it was
through this initial business relationship that a
close family friendship was forged…one lasting
nearly 50 years! There was no one else like
him, and it was a true honor to know him and
collaborate with him through the decades. We will
miss him terribly – his free spirit and the fun it
was to work with him. Carroll Shelby’s legacy will
be an inspiration for generations to come!

“Celebrating 50 Years of Shelby” on Sunday, Aug. 26, was a stunning tribute to Carroll Shelby, with great
food, live entertainment and the MB2 Raceway outdoor go-kart track. Shelby owners were encouraged to
display their vehicles at the party too, so the event became an instant MAJOR car show as well…with awesome Shelbys on display all over Galpin’s
extensive show areas, along with spectacular displays of collectors’ memorabilia, and showcase presentations of the ’62 Shelby CSX2000, the first
Shelby ever built; and the CSX2001 Cobra – the first production Cobra ever built! Every stop was a photo op at Galpin on that very special Sunday!
We sponsored the first Mustang Owners Club and the first Shelby Cobra
Clubs! Today, we continue our fine tradition of building, modifying and tuning
the legendary Shelby vehicles. Our GAS Shelby Mod Shop is staffed with
trained Shelby technicians using specially engineered and Shelby approved

to build this “one-of-a-kind” 2012 Galpinized Widebody Mustang
(in collaboration with Ford Racing) to be auctioned off at BarrettJackson’s 2012 Scottsdale auction. The awesome custom coupe was
purchased for $160,000; all proceeds went to St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital. And the Galpinized “SPX/St. Jude Mustang” was
featured on the covers of both 5.0 Mustang and Rides magazines!
On the third Sunday morning of each month, from 7-10 a.m.,
it’s all-community casual fun at Galpin Santa Clarita…featuring
special pastries, great coffee, cool cars and lots of friendly auto
talk. Feels like a very special car club, with many people attending
coming in their classic vehicles, which fit in very
nicely with the new Galpin Subarus, Lincolns
