RICE BOWL 2015
Hungering for a Season of Hope
The next stop on our CRS Rice Bowl
journey is the African nation, Niger, where
we’re reminded that life’s joys and
challenges are often seasonal. This week
we pray for people who struggle to feed
their families during the hungry season –
when food in in short supply – and we commit to acting for the
common good.
Next week, our parish will
take up the Catholic Relief
Services Collection. This
Collection supports six
Catholic agencies that touch
more than 100 million lives
around the world. The funds
from this Collection provide food to the hungry,
support to displaced refugees, and show Christ’s
love and respect to all people. Next week, please
give generously to the Catholic Relief Services
Collection and help Jesus in disguise.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA SCHOOL NEWS
We received the following
from St. Mary School,
Aberdeen Principal Joe
Budde: Our Lady of Fatima is
G-R-8! Please let your
students, staff, and school
community members know how very much we
appreciate your caring about us and having a
bake sale to support our families. Some of
those families are still recovering from the
January floods and mudslides. The money you
raised will help them make it through a tough
time. U-R the best!
The annual Re-registration Meeting for parents
enrolling their children for the 2015-2016
school year is this Monday evening. Work is
underway on the spring musical, Beauty and
the Beast, scheduled for May. For our Lenten
reflection this week, we are looking at ways to
incorporate prayer into our days.
The Good Shepherd Preschool is
enrolling students for the 20152016 school year...and we're
filling up fast!
Ours is a small preschool,
nestled within OLF, led by two
wonderful, certified, Montessori
teachers. We provide a Montessori based,
Catholic education for young students between
3 and 5 years old.
The morning session is full, but we still have
room in the afternoon. The afternoon class
meets from 12:15 to 3:15 and your child may
attend two to four days per week as you choose.
To learn more about our program, please
contact Elena Larkin and Karen Witkowski
at [email protected]. Applications can be
found on the school website: http://

Make Your Marriage a Priority this Lenten Season

Saint John Paul II made an astounding claim: “The body,
and it alone, is capable of making visible what is invisible,
the spiritual and divine. It was created to transfer into the
visible reality of the world, the invisible mystery hidden in
God from time immemorial, and thus to be a sign of it.”
By those words, the saint-pope ushered in a new era of
Catholic theology with his ground-breaking “theology of
the body.” Applying John Paul ll’s reflections on the
human body like a king of “leaven”, we will explore
various themes relevant to daily life, as a single or
married man.
It’s not too late to focus on something positive
this Lent -- making your marriage everything God
intended it to be. Retrouvaille (pronounced retrovī) can help you rediscover your spouse and move forward
in a more positive and loving way. For confidential
information about, or to register for our upcoming
program beginning April 24-26, 2015 call 206-706-2608

CATHOLIC WAR VETERANS
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, INC.
The Catholic War Veterans of the USA would like to
establish a new Post at St. Matthew Parish, Seattle [Lake
City], WA. CWV’s purpose is to support and advocate for
Veterans of all Faiths, and their dependents, in obtaining
earned benefits. We desire to provide "effective healing
prayer" for all of our Veterans. We will strive [through what
we refer to as "Americanism" and "Catholic Action"] to
alleviate spiritual decline and systemic dysfunction within
our communities, our military, our nation, and our culture.
In light of the discord and dissonance that we see in our
world, our nation, and our culture, we really need to find
the time as well as the fee for membership in the Catholic
War Veterans of the USA. Membership is open to any
Catholic Veteran with an honorable discharge who has
served 90 days or more in the US Armed Forces,
Reserve, or National Guard. We need a minimum of 15
members to open a Post. Ultimately, it is our intention to
be known as the most dynamic Post in the country. For
more information call Robert W. DeVore, (206) 466-6457
[between Noon and 10:00 PM Mon-Sat]. Please visit http://
