El “SuperGol”, un espectáculo de una hora diaria de fútbol españoles dirigido a los
jóvenes latinos, ha marcado su filial 25. El evento
que comenzó en KWKW ESPN Deportes de Los Angeles, ahora cuenta con las
transmisiones en distintas ciudades de Estados Unidos. Gracias a estaciones
de Lotus Communications Corp. Phoenix, Houston y Las Vegas son las ciudades donde
opera emisoras Lotus que retransmitirán el show – en vivo - de 4 a 5 de la
tarde. Halim Zadat y Erika Garza son sus anfitriones.
“SuperGol” presenta un estilo similar al de un partido de fútbol en directo. Host Zadat
Halim, locutor de Fox Sports, Univision, Galavision, HBO y canal 22 de Los Angeles,
excita a los oyentes con su famoso eslogan “RACATA”.
Erika Garza, la primera mujer en ser anfitriona de una red de radios en español con
formato deportivo, es una personalidad reconocida a nivel nacional que aparece
regularmente en programas de televisión como El Gordo y La Flaca, En La Zona, y
Levante, así como programas de radio como Super Estrella, La Raza y La Tricolor.
Sobre el “SuperGol”, el Presidente de KWKW, James Kalmenson, dijo: “El de
los jóvenes latinos nacidos en Estados Unidos es un segmento creciente de la audiencia
deportiva que está respondiendo muy bien al programa”.

Lotus Takes New Soccer Show ''SuperGol'' National

Recently launched SuperGol, a one-hour daily Spanish soccer show targeting young
Latinos, has scored its 25th affiliate. The show started on KWKW (ESPN Deportes)/Los
Angeles and due to strong listener response, Lotus Communications Corp. has decided
to take it national. SuperGol has quickly expanded to Phoenix, Houston and Las Vegas. It
airs live from 4-5pm and is hosted by Halim Zadat and Erika Garza.
KWKW President James Kalmenson said, "The young U.S-born Latino is a growing
segment of the sports audience that's responding extremely well to the program.
Latinos of all generations are avid soccer fans, making the soccer-themed talk show an
ideal platform for younger audiences while maintaining the traditional sports target of
men 25-54.“
SuperGol is formatted with a twist, using frequent soccer themed play-by-play
production elements, presenting a style similar to a live soccer match. Host Halim Zadat,

The program is called SuperGol and it's produced and originates at KWKW, a Lotus
Communications station in LA . KWKW President James Kalmenson (pictured) says the
one-hour afternoon program hosted by Halim Zadat and Erika Garza has become so
popular he now has it syndicated on 25 stations. The show is modeled after a live soccer
broadcast, using frequent soccer themed play-by-play production elements, and targets
the growing US-born Latino population.
Host Halim Zadat, a well-known broadcaster on Fox Sports, Univision, Galavision, HBO
and Channel 22 in Los Angeles, excites listeners with his famous slogan “RACATA.” Erika
Garza, the first woman to host a network Spanish radio soccer program, is a nationally
recognized personality who appears regularly on such television shows as El Gordo y La
Flaca, En La Zona, and Levante as well as radio shows like Super Estrella, La Raza and La
Tricolor. Together, the duo produces a light and entertaining style of Spanish sports
radio.
Kalmenson says sports is a great way to reach a multi-generational audience, especially
soccer. "It was clear as day that there was a place for this kind of product in the Latin
market. So many marketers are looking for ways to reach younger, born in the U.S.A.
Latinos. As a radio station, the essence of what we do is to try to mirror the community.
We felt really good about it going in. The concept of the show also seemed pretty
exciting to us."
