McDonald’s Under Construction!
The City’s first McDonald’s is
now under construction at the
corner of Amar Road and Ardilla
Avenue. The new restaurant
plans to open in mid-November
2015 in the Sunkist Shopping
Center. Construction moved
quickly since the ground breaking
ceremony in August 2015 with
City officials and McDonald’s
representatives. The new 4,400
square-foot restaurant has a
dual drive-thru and features the
added bonus of a 680 squarefoot outdoor dining area that was
recently approved by the City.
Residents will soon be able to
visit the new location.
Jersey Mikes & WSS Shoes
Jersey Mike’s Subs is coming
to the El Super Shopping Center.
The shop will be located at 1281
N. Hacienda Boulevard next to
Starbucks and Waba Grill. It
plans to open in early 2016.
Jersey Mike’s was founded in
1956 on the east coast and
serves submarine sandwiches
made to order, slicing the meats
and cheeses as needed. The
sandwiches are famous for
being ordered “Mike’s Way,”
which involves sliced onions,
shredded lettuce, tomatoes,
spices, and “The Juice” - a
mixture of red wine vinegar and
olive oil.
Plans for WSS Shoes

ALDI
Grocery
Coming
To La
Puente
Plans for the new
ALDI grocery store at
Hacienda Boulevard and
Francisquito Avenue are
progressing with the
upcoming demolition
of the former Pizza Hut
restaurant on the corner of
Hacienda Boulevard and
Francisquito Avenue. The
vacant parcel to the south,
a former redevelopment
agency parcel, was sold
to Frontier Enterprises
for the construction of
the ALDI market. The
grocer plans to construct
a 18,557 square-foot
market, specializing in
discount staples such as
fresh meats, produce, and
other household items.
ALDI is a sister
company of Trader Joes,
both owned by Germany’s
Albrecht family. The new
La Puente store is part of
the company’s western
expansion, including
100+ stores on the west
coast. The design of
the La Puente ALDI
grocery store features
contemporary finishes,
including natural stone
veneers and anodized
aluminum canopies over
the customer entries.
ALDI promises to provide
a cost-effective approach
to grocery shopping
for local shoppers. La
Puente is excited about
ALDI coming to the
community and hopes
to have one of the first
ALDI stores to open in
California.

Light Bulbs Recycling

La Ciudad Actualiza
Elemento de Vivienda
La Ciudad sigue progresando
en la certificación del Estado
del Elemento de Vivienda
actualizado. Después de varias
juntas publicas en el verano,
un proyecto fue enviado al
Estado a fines de agosto 2015
para evaluación. Audiencias
públicas serán programadas
en el otoño de 2015 con la
esperanza de adoptar el
Elemento de Vivienda a los
fines de este año o principios
del 2016. La participación
del publico es un componente
vital para crear el Elemento de
Vivienda mejor posible para
preservar la vivienda actual en
la ciudad, asegurar un desarrollo
de calidad en el futuro, y cumplir
con las metas de vivienda bajo
mandato Estatal.

sobre los próximos talleres
y audiencias públicas, por

Programa De Reciclaje
de su Árbol De Navidad
Cada temporada navideña,
la Ciudad de La Puente
proporciona un programa
de reciclaje de Árboles de
Navidad donde los residentes
pueden colocar sus árboles en
frente de la acera o de llevar
sus árboles de Navidad al
parque de La Puente a 501
N. Glendora Avenue para
reciclar. El programa este año
comenzará el sábado, 26 de
diciembre 2015 y continuara
el viernes, 8 de enero 2016.
Si usted quiere que su árbol
sea recogido de su acera,
simplemente coloque al lado
de sus contenedores en su
día de colección de basura.
Árboles más de 6 pies de
altura tienen que ser cortados
en la mitad.
Árboles de Navidad tienen
que estar libre de todas las
decoraciones. Esto significa
quitar todas las luces, oropel,
enguirnalda, bolsa de plástico,
soportes del árbol, alambre,
cuerda, clavos, y el resto de
los materiales extranjeros
que tengan en los árboles
antes de reciclarlos. Lo
sentimos, pero árboles que
tengan nieve artificial no serán
coleccionados en la acera o
aceptados en el parque de
La Puente.
¡Al reciclar su árbol ahorra el
espacio valioso del terraplén!
Los árboles se ponen en
la tierra del estiércol para
abonar, o la alternativa de la
cubierta diaria del terraplén
que reduce la erosión de la
tierra y disuade crecimiento
de la mala hierba.
Mientras que el
acontecimiento es gratuito, los
individuos que disponen de
sus árboles del día de fiestas
deben ser residentes de la
Ciudad de La Puente para
poder participar. Para más
información, llame por favor a
la Municipal de La Ciudad de
La Puente al (626) 8 5 5 1500 o llame a
los Servicios
de Valley
Vista al
(800) 4426454.
