OBJECTIVE:
I’m an extremely talented and creative designer with the drive and ambition that would be a definite asset to your company.
My outgoing personality is also a plus. I enjoy connecting with clientele and feel a great sense of personal satisfaction when
my team has finished a project that exceeds the client’s expectations. I have over 25 years of print/advertising, photography,
and design experience. I’m a self-starter and can take off with a project with little instruction...but also work great in a
positive, team-based environment.
EXPERIENCE:
Graphics Coordinator Print & Internet • Psychological Assessment Resources, Inc. (PAR) • July 1996 to Present
PAR is a major test publisher in the field of Psychology.
Responsibilities include: Producing five, 256-page, full-color comprehensive catalogs, and three, 96-page prospecting
catalogs per year. These catalogs sell PAR products as well as distributor products. I set up digital photo shoots for
products, scan products, digitally retouch, and archive photos for use in both the catalogs, internet, advertising, and
conference booth displays. Oftentimes, I create kit photos of an entire product line, before the product has been printed.
I also design logos, product packaging, book covers, brochures, software CD screens, faces, and installation guides...etc.,
and design and maintain the content portions of PAR’s website to parallel the catalogs. I also typeset and produce the
logo, Professional Manual, Record Forms, Response Booklets, and Stimuli Booklets..etc, for PAR Product lines. I have also
designed independent, smaller product websites for PAR: ADCQ.net, self-directed-search.com, mini-mental.com.
Art Director • Carrollwood Copy Center & Printing • July 1993 to July 1996 and August 1987 to April 1990 (two branches)
Responsibilities included: Design, typesetting and layout of all kinds of advertising materials, from business forms, posters,
newsletters, to 4-color brochures, and corporate packages. Color separations, photo retouching, masking, scanning. I kept
5 pressmen producing.
Art Director and Owner • Design FX • May 1990 to July 1993—Owned and operated, Design FX, an Advertising Agency,
that provided design and printing services to a large, varied client base in the Tampa Bay Area.
Responsibilities included: Sales, customer relations, graphic design, illustration, photography, photo retouching, typesetting,
purchasing paper and ink, pick-ups, deliveries, invoicing (accounts payable and receivable). During this time—I also
contracted myself out as a Temporary to assist businesses while they are searching for a permanent employee. I worked
for the Graphics Departments at both William Mercer, Workplace, and freelanced for many Tampa Bay area print shops
and agencies.
Art Director • NET International • July 1987 to May 1992
Responsibilities included: Design, typesetting, and layout of all advertising, packaging, brochures and materials for multiple
video programs, with video sleeves. Designed and typeset books written by Burke Hedges. Produced slides for
presentations. Organized and processed the flow of all printed materials.
Art Director and Production Manager • South Hampton Corporation • October 1985 to July 1987
Responsibilities included: Producing 4-color process direct-mail order inserts for MasterCard/VISA for international
wholesale of a variety of products. Worked with photographer to set-up products for photo shoots. Chose transparencies
for layout and color-separations. Designed and typeset to final advertising pieces. I managed an Art Department staff of 5,
which produced designs for product, and product packaging.
Graphic Designer/Typesetter • Prestige Printing • December 1983 to October 1985
Responsibilities included: Corporate logo design, brochures, business stationery, forms, menus, flyers...etc., from original
concept to finished product. I also burned printing plates, shot stats, PMTs, halftones, and negatives. Negative retouching
and some prepress stripping.
Graphic Designer/Typesetter • IBM • January 1983-January 1984
Responsibilities included: Graphic design and light typesetting in the Information Development department, producing inhouse brochures and literature, and worked with the outside printers.
Darkroom Technician • BoldRuler Typesetters • August 1981 to January 1983
Responsibilities included: Shooting and developing half-tones, negatives, stats and PMTs. Graphic design and layout for the
USF Oracle. Photo typesetting.
SOFTWARE/HARDWARE:
Macintosh Expert (and PC platforms): QuarkXpress, Creative Suite: Adobe Acrobat Professional w/Distiller, Adobe
Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, DreamWeaver, Flash (minor), Freehand, Flightcheck, Fetch, Microsoft Office:
PowerPoint, Word, Publisher...etc. Expert in all phases of the print production process, with basic web design/coding, I
also troubleshoot and repair Macintosh and issues.

• Metal Sculpture/Industrial Art: Welded metal sculptures of wildlife, equine, and fantasy works. I had an interview with
Channel 13’s Lloyd Sowers, January 15th, 2008 on my metal sculpture work. Works on display at the Florida Aquarium
January 2008-April 2008. On display at The Beck Gallery, The Creative Native Gallery, JC Saddlery and Horse Tack and
More Tack Shops.
• Underwater Photography Locations: Over a decade of experience: Cozumel, Honduras, Bimini, Grand Bahamas, Port
Lucaya, Indian Cay, Curacao, Bonaire, Grand Cayman Islands, Maui, Oahu, Kona, Hawaii, Fort Lauderdale, Florida Keys,
and West Palm Beach
• Florida Aquarium: My underwater photography was on display in the upstairs Coral Reef Gallery for over 8 years, and in
the Executive Conference Room. My photography remained sold-out in the Aquarium’s Gift Shop.
• Product photography for advertising—South Hampton Corporation—a direct mail company.
• Sea Inn—Dive Boat, West Palm Beach—Ship’s Underwater Photographer. I photographed divers, on-board and while
diving with sea life.
• PhotoSafari®—Creative Photography Class—Instructor/Founder—City of Oldsmar, Private tutoring, Baywinds Instructor.
• Travel Photography—Diver’s Supply Travel Agency, Macon, GA, at the Reef Club, Cozumel, Mexico, Land and
Underwater Photography for advertising promotional purposes. Shot and designed dive ads for Bill Jacksons.
• Graphic Designer/artist for the redesign of the Burgert Brothers Calendar, 1999 and 2000, Tampa Public
Library–Friends of the Library.
• Newspapers/Magazines: Freelance Photography for the Weekly Planet and Tampa Times. Ad work for Southern Living

VISION:
I will approach this project as one would a superior. With great respect and
admiration. I will show Tampa to everyone for the very first time...the real Tampa.
What makes it’s heart beat, what makes it sing. You will not recognize the many gifts
that I will find...the treasures that most have never seen...yet I will find it...and
preserve it for future generations.
