St. Ann Parish Mission Statement
We are called by a loving God
to make St. Ann of Lansing a Catholic community of faith.
We are a family of diverse people with various ministries:
healing the body and spirit, teaching of God and His love,
united in sacraments and prayer, reaching out to the extended community.
With God’s revelation of Himself in Scripture as our guide,
we strive to grow in His Spirit and to fulfill the promise of Christ’s Kingdom.

Today’s Readings
Together Let Us Cause God Joy
First Reading — I have lifted high the lowly tree
(Ezekiel 17:22-24).
Psalm — Lord, it is good to give thanks to you
(Psalm 92).
Second Reading — Whether we are at home or away, we
aspire to please the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:6-10).
Gospel — It is the smallest of all seeds, and becomes the
largest of plants (Mark 4:26-34)
Today is the Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time. The
Responsorial Psalm is “Lord, it is good to give thanks to
you.” (Psalm 92) Today is not only Father’s Day, but
also my oldest son’s 40th birthday . . . Happy Birthday,
Kevin. Oops, now how can I get away with being 39
again? Also, happy first Father’s Day to my youngest
son, Mark!

HERO DAD
By Joanna Fuchs
Readings for the Week
You are my hero, Dad. You’re my secure foundation.
When I think of you, I’m filled with love
and fond appreciation.
You make me feel protected; I’m sheltered by your care.
You’re always my true friend; and Dad,
when I need you, you’re always there.
You have a place of honor, deep within my heart.
You’ve been my superhero, Dad,
right from the very start,
And I love you with all my heart.

CAHOOTS
(e-mail Author Unknown)
I have been in many places, but I’ve never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can’t go alone. You have to be
in Cahoots with someone. I’ve also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however been in Sane. They don’t have an airport; you have to
be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks
to my family, friends and work. I would like to go to
Conclusions, but you have to jump and I’m not too much
into physical activities anymore. I have also been in
Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit
there too often. I’ve been in Flexible, but only when it is
very important to stand firm. Sometimes I’m in Capable, but have to know when to ask for help. One of my
favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the
adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart. Life is
too short for negative drama and little things. So laugh
insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Miss Me—But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want not rites in a gloom filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little—but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared.
Miss me—but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the Friend we know, And bury
your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me—but let me go.
Special prayers and blessings to all of our fathers today.
Remember, in one week we start Vacation Bible School,
from 9:00 a.m. to noon, June 25, 26, 27, 28, with a closing program/picnic at noon on the last day. Preregister
your kids ages four years old through 6th grade by June
21, and it’s FREE ($5 after June 21)!

Happy Fathers' Day to all Dads,
Grandpas, Godfathers, and Male

spruce it up a bit. If you would like to donate a can of
paint and/or volunteer to come in and paint a wall, a
hallway, or a railing, please let us know.
LOOKING FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES ONE AND

Ann School, call us now. We have Financial Aid available and will waive the $50 Registration Fee for parish
families who register by July 6, 2012. First and second
grades are our two smallest groups. Help us secure a
strong future!
We are always interested in your photos of Parish and

WANTED: ST. ANN SCHOOL ALUMNI!
Next week, I will begin a feature called, "Donna's Dictionary." This was a suggestion made by members of
the Parish Transformation Team that has been meeting
every Monday evening since March 19. Those meetings
are winding down, and the generous parishioners who
have attended each week have given Father Bill, Barb,
and me a lot of wonderful ideas for the future of our Parish and School.
We are preparing to celebrate the 100th Anniversary
of St. Ann Parish, and we would like YOU to be a part
of the celebration. Please fill out this form and drop
it in the collection basket or return it to St. Ann
School c/o Principal Lamoureux. Feel free to share it
with classmates, friends, and family. We would love
to have as many Alumni as possible at our special
100th Anniversary Celebration!
Enjoy these beautiful early summer days, and please
continue to pray for everyone at your parish school.
