DEAR PARENTS
Greetings to you all,
We have successfully come to the end of yet another busy term. We shared many
of the activities of this term in our Mid-term edition. Kindly allow me to share
with you events of the latter part of the term and what to expect in the new term
(third term).
EXAMINATION DEPARTMENT
The term has been quite busy with Continuous Assessment Tests (CATS), Midterm examination and finally End of term examinations. Parents are advised to
collect their child (ren)’s reports on 10th April between 8.00am and 12 pm from
the school office. Please note that we will not have the consultation on this day as
it has been the tradition. We intend to hold it once we resume; early next term. In
case of any general queries, the teachers will be available to attend to you on
Thursday. Once again it’s of paramount importance for parents to go through
their child(ren)’s academic report together with the student and discuss his/her
performance. For children performing below the expected level, there will be a
letter of caution enclosed.
The candidates successfully completed their mocks and
the teachers did an analysis of the results. These results
have been released to the students. Kindly ask for
them and discuss your child’s progress. Together with
their teachers, they have embarked on intensive revision in preparation for the finals coming up in May. We
would also request parents to continue working with
us to guide the students during the remaining time and
in the course of the exams to ensure that exam discipline is maintained during the forthcoming exams.
Grade 11, 12&13 candidates will start the written examination papers for the June
series on 2nd May and will end on the 19th June 2014. Candidates taking coursework papers will be completing them during the April holidays. The Information
Communication and Technology (ICT) practicals will be done during the April
break. Parents please support your child by ensuring you have a copy of the international examination timetable so as to keep up with the exam events. The results are expected in Mid-August 2014.
NB: A document with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Malpractice
from Cambridge International Examination (CIE) was enclosed with the academic report for your perusal and acquaintance with. Please ensure you go
through the document with your son/daughter.

Our grade 6 candidates have just completed their Cambridge Primary Checkpoint exams. Checkpoints for Secondary 1 (Grade 9) are going on and will be completed on 8th April. The results for both levels are expected midJune 2014. We hope they do well.
In case of any queries regarding examination, do not hesitate to contact the examination office.

CAREERS NEWS
Our focus as a department has now shifted to the grade 9 class who will be selecting their subjects in third term.
The selection of subjects at this level is normally based on the student’s career paths of interest, as well as their
aptitude and strength in the various subjects. The students are getting career advice on requirements for different
careers. As parents, you will play an important role too in the subject selection process and we would encourage
you to begin holding discussions with your child on the same.
The A2 level (grade 13) students have been making applications to universities and colleges they would wish to
join later on. We hope to continue with the process in the new term. In addition, all the senior students (O&ALevel) will hopefully proceed for work experience after their finals. We are encouraging them to take a proactive
role in searching for places where they can be considered for work placement. Parents are also encouraged to
help them get work placement in good time. The students will be coming home with a work experience application letter at the end of this term.
FRANCOPHONE WEEK
The students taking French joined the rest of the world in celebrating the Francophone Week (la semaine de la francophonie) from the 17th March to the 21st March. They organized a francophone quiz and watched an animated
film. They also visited the French Cultural Centre.
The students also held a bake sale in which they raised Ksh. 13,350. They donated the amount to the Fill My Cup
Initiative. We would like to say ‘merci beaucoup’ to Mrs. Farhana M. Khimji and Ms. Shaina Merali for making
the French pastry for the bake sale.

SECURITY IN THE COMPLEX
We appreciate that as an institution, we are vested with the duty of ensuring
that your children are safe and it is on this basis that we are introducing a car
pass system for all cars that are driven in the complex to either drop or pick
children. You are requested to visit the main office to get a form to fill in for us
to avail you with a pass during the first week of third term.
Cars that lack a pass after the first week of school next term will have to be registered at the gate to access the premises.
GRADE 4 & 5 TRIPS
The 4 pupils had a chance to watch ‘The PiedPiper’ musical presented by the Agha
Khan Nairobi Junior School. Before the play started, there were two dance performances by the children in the Zumba and hip-hop clubs respectively. It was good
exposure for these young minds as they savored a great display of talent by their age
mates, and of course, they were thoroughly entertained.
On 15th February, 2014, Grade 5’s made a visit to Mama Fatuma Children’s Home
where they gave donations in cash and kind. It was a totally new experience for these pupils as they interacted with the Mama Fatuma family.

Grade 5’s trip to Paradise lost. They undertook various fun activities that included; Boat riding, nature trail and
horse riding.
They then proceeded to Paradise lost for various fun activities that included; Boat

water falls

SPORTS
We had a successful Annual Sports Day on the 27th March. We had inter-house
sports activities in track and field events. Clearly, the students demonstrated a high
level of competitiveness. In the end, Red house were declared the overall winners
with green house coming second. Congratulations to all the participants.
Recently, our girls were crowned bronze medalists in the IPPSA football league at
Loreto Convent Msongari.
We would like to appeal to all parents to kindly ensure that their children have appropriate house colour T-Shirts for the Inte-house competitions. These are available
at Haria uniforms at Sarit Centre and Animet uniforms at Yaya Centre. You are also encouraged to make sure that your child(ren) have the official PE kit for their PE
lessons and a fleece jacket before the cold weather sets in next term.
