SCIENTIFIC RATIONALE
Precision medicine is becoming a challenge and a
promise in oncology. The detailed knowledge of molecular
mechanisms of cancer is identifying new druggable targets
and is generating new highly selective molecularly targeted
agents. The hope that tumours can be cured by customised
treatment according to their genetic and molecular makeup is becoming a reality in adult oncology. This International
Symposium will provide an overview of the recent updates
on precision medicine in pediatric oncology. Internationally
known experts will discuss this exciting scenario through
lectures and a round table on how to make this a reality also
for children with cancer.
