Join Leech Tishman in raising a glass to grow gardens!
Leech Tishman is fundraising for the Greater Pittsburgh Community
Food Bank and Grow Pittsburgh’s “Great Garden Giveaway,” which
provides the resources necessary for area families to grow their own
produce.

We will be raffling great gift baskets at the event!
In 2014, Leech Tishman will be
partnering with the Greater Pittsburgh
Community Food Bank and Grow
Pittsburgh to help area families
support themselves with the resources
to grow their own produce. In
connection with the Food Bank's
Produce to People program that
distributes food to families in various
neighborhoods, the Food Bank and
Grow Pittsburgh handed out seeds,
seedlings and buckets.
In 2012, they gave out more than
1,600 seedlings to over 800 people at
two distributions and in 2013, through
three distributions, those numbers
were even higher. The majority of the
supplies were donated from local
businesses.
This year, we are hoping to help
"grow" the program even more. In
doing so, we plan to increase the
number of distributions from three to
four or five, starting in May and
continuing through June. Leech
Tishman has committed to help with
fundraising and volunteer recruitment.
The fundraising will enable the Food
Bank and Grow Pittsburgh not only to
purchase more supplies, but also to do
so earlier in the season, when
donations aren't as forthcoming,
which will allow them to be handed
out in plenty of time for the growing
season.
