JULY 2013
From The President’s Desk
This year’s VMOA show at De Anza Community
College was a great event. It was nice to see a
variety of cars on display. From classic to late
mode Mustangs, AC Cobras, to Panteras and a
classic Ford Bronco. Thank you Tom Hasenberg
for bringing a very special stock car.
The De Anza Automotive Technology Department
did a wonderful job providing BBQ hamburgers and
hotdogs.
I would also like to thank all the vendors and sponsors
who participated in this year’s show. Please be sure to
check out the Vendor/Sponsor section of this month’s
Pony Express and consider them for your next service
or project needs!

On the Upshift of Things. . .
The rumor mill for the 2015 Mustang continues to grind
away. Scouring the internet, I have discovered many topics
Mustang enthusiasts have selected to speculate what Ford
may have in store for the auto market to celebrate the
rebirth of the original pony car. Top on the list is a
completely redesigned body, taking possible cues from the
Evo concept and even the Austin Martin DB models. Later,
posts began appearing that the miracle workers at the blue
oval were tinkering with a four cylinder turbo power plant,
possibly for the anticipated European market. American
buyers are beginning to acknowledge the existence for such
developments, arising mostly from Ford’s desire to move
the Mustang into a world market. While some may say
Mustang is born and bred in America, Ford has been
catering to Europe, Asia, and Latin America since their cars
were introduced in Great Britain in 1903. Some may be
shocked to learn of Ford’s latest consideration for an
international Mustang; a pony car powered by diesel.
Stepping out on a limb here, recent TDI advancements have
produced respectable sports-minded cars from BMW, Audi,
and yes, even Ford. I suppose only time will tell.

VMOA & MCA
The Vintage Mustang Owners Association of San Jose is a
chartered regional club of the Mustang Club of America. Being
an MCA charter Club, provides VMOA and its members, with
significant benefits.
Our MCA charter allows VMOA to purchase an affordable $1,000,000.00 general
liability insurance policy for our club events. VMOA is also able to obtain an
additional policy to cover our important annual Car Show. (A couple of years ago,
this was very important.)
MCA sanctions various National Shows. In 2013, there are five shows scheduled.
The closest show for us was: June 7-9 in Reno, Nevada. If you have not participated
in or attended, an MCA National Show, we encourage you to attend this one.
As an individual member of MCA, you will receive extra value as a Mustang owner/
enthusiast. Twelve monthly issues of the excellent magazine MUSTANG TIMES
including:
*National Mustang hobby information
*What various Mustang MCA Clubs activities are scheduled
*Individual owners stories about their cars
*Listing of Shows and events, all over the USA
*Vehicles for sale, parts for sale, plus parts and vehicles wanted
*Numerous adds and new product information
MCA membership also allows you to purchase your vehicle insurance from Heacock
Insurance. Last year I saved $40.00 / car for my vehicles by switching to Heacock.
Please see me at the monthly meetings or club events, or call me at 408-356-7421
for any questions regarding Mustang Club of America.
