The year six’s play
Year 6 are practising for their
school play. It is very secret not
even the teachers know except
from year six teachers. We are sure
that we shall put on a wonderful
performance, because year six has
the most wonderful actors, singers
and dancers.
Year 4 went to Cuffley Camp on the 15th - 17th June
and had great fun.
Day 1
On the first day we did shelter building in the woods in which had to collect logs and leaves.
We were in our team groups, Lea, Gade, Ver and Colne. The leaves were to make it rainproof. A lady called Laura came and shook our shelter to see if it was stable. She went round
testing with a watering can to see if it was waterproof. We had to go into our wigwam shelter while she poured the water over the top of it. If it wasn’t stable we couldn’t go in, luckily
ours was.
We also did pond dipping on day 1. we were in out team groups again. I was with Natasha,
Ben, Sam, Daniel and Ellie. We used a net, a bucket, a magnifying glass and a little pot.
We found dragonfly nymphs and some of the teams found newts.
We had lunch and then we played. We were in a Hilltop Camp. The tents were
green, like little houses. There were five of us in a tent. After tea we did mammal
trapping and set traps for wood mice, voles and shrews.
Day 2
The Teachers woke us up saying “get up, breakfast in 5 minutes!!” We got
dressed and then had breakfast. We then went back to mammal trapping
and found out who had caught something and who hadn’t. Most of us were
in groups of four but there was one of five. I was in the group of five with
Katie, Adam, Luke and Antonio. Our team caught a wood mouse and another
team caught a wood mouse too.
We did circus skills on day 2. There were stilts, skipping ropes, diabalos, spinning plates,
juggling balls and more. I enjoyed the wooden stilts and I managed five steps.
We also did an assault course, outside art using mud, sticks and stones, and orienteering.
There were swinging tyres as part of assault course, along a rope bridge, monkey bars and a
crab net. It was good fun.
In the evening we lit a camp fire and had marshmallows, hot chocolate and
biscuits. 4C Came and shared the campfire with 4R, But 4U lit their own
one with Mrs.Ullman.
Day 3
On day 3 we had breakfast, packed our bags and then went over to the up
and under course. There were fallen down trees that we had to go over and
under, along with hurdles and a net that had leaves on a camouflage net.
There was also a metal tube that we had to crawl through. This took us back
to the start. After the up and under course we went back to our camps and
had lunch. Then the jeep came with a trailer on the back for our bags.
We went down to the coach, got on and went home!

On 23rd May- 27th, The whole of the Year 6 went on PGL!
a residential school trip to PGL, windmill Hill in east Sussex. We all really enjoyed the trip and here’s a sort of diary of the events.
Monday
We set off on the trip on the Monday at 9:30, we stopped
off twice, one at service station and one at the beautiful beach – Severn
sisters. When we finally get to PGL we unpacked then played a couple of
fun games with Danny & Charl. Funky, Funky Seaweed!!! After we had
a tour of the place then tea. Then a flag orienteering game, free time then
bed.
Tuesday
On Tuesday we were woken up at 7:15 then we had breakfast at 8:15! All
of the groups had giant swing, Jacobs ladder, fencing and BMX throughout the day either in the morning or in the afternoon. Afterwards we all
had lunch which was very delicious! Then we had our other activities and
after that we had our tea also fabulous and then had our evening activity
which was capture the flag! After that we had a drink and a biscuit (3
each!). Then we had to go to bed to have a good night sleep - it was
worth it because we had a long day on Tuesday!
Wednesday.
We had an early start on Wednesday, with our breakfast at 7:45. There
was a series of activities throughout the day including Zip wire, Aeroball, trapeze and orienteering. After breakfast, lunch and all our activities
were done we had tea. Afterwards we had a sing-song in our groups with
Mr.Harnden, in which we got given a activity and then had to make up a
verse about it to the song “I saw a mouse”. Group 3 won for the best
verse! We then got changed and a disco in the lodge, It was really, really
fun! Afterwards, we went to bed after a long and fun day.
Thursday
Today we woke up and got ready for room inspection and then went for
breakfast. Today we had raft building, rifle shooting, rock climbing and
challenge course in any order because it depends which group you’re in.
And then we had our lunch after 2 activities and then we had another 2
activities. We then had another evening game and juice and biscuits. We
then went to bed after a long, fun, exciting day.
Friday
We got up nice and early and started packing up our suitcases. Had our last breakfast, then more packing and we
moved our brimming suitcases to a more convenient
place. We then had two of these thrilling activities : Abseiling, Archery, climbing and orienteering and more.
After this we went on to tellytubby hill and had our
lunch before saying our goodbyes to PGL and getting on the coach on
the way home. We didn’t stop off on the way home but nobody noticed
seeing as half of our coach were asleep, the other half chatting or listening to the radio. We got to school at around 3:45 or 4:00, ready to finally
see our family and have some home-cooked food and a proper nights
sleep.
We really, REALLY
enjoyed our time at
PGL as it was activity-packed and
we spent even more
time with our
friends and classmates.

Fairy Liquid
Up, up above us on planet Gozgolygum in the
city of Flopjop, Yoob Yoob, the three year old
Yuuba Alien, was wondering down Slickle
Street when she stopped outside Gozzle Bar
and zapped the button on the wall. The door
slid open. It was a typical Flopjop bar with
see-through sofas, tables on springs and walls
hung with pictures of famous aliens who had
visited the bar for example slimy temper. But
what really interested Yoob yoob was the
food laid out on the counter. There was a nose
tingling selection including fried hair slides,
grilled omp oms, burnt flower heads, a packet
of blong chips, but best of all, ink and mushroom flavoured jelly in collectable pots. Yoob
Yoob’s tummy began to rumble.
Yoob Yoob was about to order when the bar
man named baffalaff walked through the door
behind the counter holding some jelly in an
unusual pot. “I’ve got a limited edition flavour
today, its bogeys and rice pudding with a dash
of fairy liquid. Would you like to try it?” enquired Baffalaff. (Yoob Yoob was allergic to
fairy liquid, but in all then excitement she had
forgotten this.) “Yib!” replied Yoob Yoob
(Yib was Yoob Yoob’s way of saying yes.)
Baffalafff handed Yoob Yoob the pot of jelly.
“That costs one shiny” he said. Yoob Yoob
fumbled in her pocket looking for a shiny, at
last pulling it out. She slid it across the gleaming counter in to Baffalaff’s hands. Yoob
Yoob was so eager to try the new flavour, she
didn't bother sitting down, tore off the lid with
more oomph than usual, scooped up a handful
of jelly and shoved it up her nostrils( this is
how Yoob Yoobs species of aliens eat). Almost immediately, purple blotches spread
across the whole of her body . The blotches
started to blow out different shaped bubbles.
Soon Yoob Yoob was swamped by an electric
mass of bubbles ranging from bubbles that
resembled homer simpson to bubbles that
looked like water guns, which actually
squirted soapy water. “ blam blablablac bla
blabay” spluttered Yoob Yoob. Her mouth
was so full of bubbles she couldn't talk properly. What Yoob Yoob was trying to say was
“I’m allergic to fairy liquid!” but blafflaff didn't realise and so he stood there with a puzzled
on his face. It was pretty windy outside and
Yoob Yoob was hoping that, if she went outside the bubbles would blow away. The sky
was getting more and more colourful by the
minute, like it always did when it was almost
night time. YoobYoob stepped outside, the
colours of the sky didn't seem as blinding as
they had before and now they seemed to comfort her, but oh how she wished the bubbles
would just suddenly leave her! The sticky
pavement, made out of alien troll bogeys,
squelched under her feet.
Meanwhile, whizzing towards the Gozzzle bar
in hope of some grilled Omp oms, was a microscopic megafly named Terry. He was
wearing magic leg warmers which said in
seven different languages “I’m called Terry
& IM PROUD TO BE A MEGAFLY” Which
was a magic saying from the fly kingdom
where every fly is called Terry. Terry was in
the middle of singing “who let the dogs out.”
when the song was cut short. He was being
swallowed up in a huge gulp by Yoob Yoob.
As soon as Yoob Yoob heard this, she spat
Terry out. Terry hurtled towards the floor but
luckily he landed on a fresh piece of nozzy
gum. Suddenly Yoob Yoob felt a bubbly sensation inside of her as all the bubbles floated
away and Yoob Yoob was left feeling all fresh
and tingy, she was cured” To celebrate she
had a disco party and invited all her friends
including her three best friends: Dretty Etty,
Finkadob Lob and Zilbee Jilbee and of course,
terry, the one who had cured her by his magic
legwarmers. Baffalaff gout out his Dj set and
disco ball and Yoob Yoob danced all night to
her favourite song “Written in the slime” By
