CDFC Christopher Crites
DFC Richard Carley was raised in
Indiana. He moved to Florida in
2003 and started at the Sheriff's
Office in 2007 as a correctional
officer. While working at the jail, he
became dual certified as a law
enforcement officer and, in 2012, he
was transferred to road patrol.
Recently the Grove City area had
been hit with a number of burglaries.
DFC Carley was in an unmarked
vehicle and spotted what appeared
to be a burglary in progress. When
he approached the person, the
suspect fled on foot. DFC Carley
called for assistance and with help
from other units, they began
searching for the suspect. In the
end, it was DFC Carley himself who
located the suspect and made the
arrest. As a result of this arrest,
detectives were eventually able to
link this same suspect to numerous
other cases. This is just one
example of DFC Carley's dedication
to his job.
CDFC Christopher Crites has been a
Corrections Officer since 2000. After
spending more than 11 years with
the Florida Department of Corrections, he moved to Charlotte County
and joined the Sheriff's Office in
2012. Since joining the Sheriff's Office, he has demonstrated a drive to
succeed through his ability to accomplish goals and objectives set by
his supervisors, often exceeding
their expectations. CDFC Crites was
recently involved in working with a
pilot program in the jail to test the
feasibility of using tablets. Utilizing
his 16 years of previous military experience, he was instrumental in orchestrating a smooth transition of
changes in Jail operations as it related to the use of the tablets. During
his off-duty time, CDFC Crites likes
to spend time with his family. He
also is currently spending time training for Walt Disney World Marathon
in which he is scheduled to compete
in January 2016 with his wife.

June Scopino
“If you want something done, call
June." That simple statement is
heard daily in the hallways of the
Administration Building says it all.
June currently works as a Logistics
Specialist. She manages the facilities at the Administrative Building. June has been with CCSO
since 2004, having worked in MIS, in
Records and now in Logistics. Scopino approaches each task with fervor
and excitement. She takes ownership of everything she does and has
never turned down an assignment,
no matter how unpleasant the task
might be. Scopino is a member of
the Praise Tabernacle Church in Port
Charlotte where she also assists in
the office. Captain Robinson, Bureau
of Support Services,
described
Scopino as "having the kindest heart
of anyone that I know. She never
says a bad thing about anybody and
is an incredibly strong Christian
woman. We are lucky to have her as
part of our team."
