so what’s the secret ingredient? Passion. a passion to constantly push the boundaries of how each
element of hippotizer’s multi-tasking software performs. a passion for providing more solutions to the
challenges of media manipulation than any other single piece of av equipment. a passion for helping
professionals make the unworkable a reality and bring every piece of an ambitious concept to the stage.
hippotizer can bring something new to your design recipes.
so, tell us, . . . whatcha got cookin’?

there is no doubt that a hippotizer media server is pleasing to the eye. all those gently glowing leD
slats, soft touch control buttons and a high quality finish could leave you head over heels in a second. but
a hippotizer media server is so much more than just sleek lines and curves. under the skin lies award
winning software running on tested and approved hardware and a sprinkling of ingenuity when it comes
to making the whole mix work together.
©evercreative08
. . . is the result of over 6 years working with the most demanding professionals in the live event industry.
over these years we’ve strived, and regularly succeeded in providing the video playback solutions they
want . . . then surprised them with something they didn’t yet know they needed.

(if necessary) into the optimum hippotizer format. Plus
hippotizer now supports an even wider array of source
formats than before!
• automatically transcode media to optimal format
• Drag and drop in a user-friendly thumbnail
based environment
• continue programming shows while media
upload takes place in the background
• huge storage capacity for 1000s of clips
• Database driven file library for easy management
of large collections
• synchronise media across multiple units
• Full alpha-channel support for images and movies
• user defined media expiry dates

Networking
the hippotizer remains a class leader supporting up to 4
live inputs from external devices including sDi, composite
video, s-video, sDi and Xga feeds from other computers
- ideal for touring shows and broadcast applications.
the new screenthief application allows the capture of
any Pc screen for high quality, cost effective integration
of PowerPoint or similar programs running on external
devices. hippotizer has advanced processing features
and hence boasts extremely low latency on live inputs.
non-linear surface projections are knocked into shape with
screenWarp – an easy to use, flexible image shaper that is
fully integrated into the standard hippotizer interface.
store or recall any system or media parameters at the
press of a button. key parameters can be transferred
from item to item and server to server – ideal for creating
templates for efficient show programming
hippotizer v3 has been designed with multi-machine
interaction as a priority made possible through hipponet,
green hippo’s proprietary network protocol
• Full spline based editor for even the most
complex shapes
• bend, stretch and morph image sections to fit
the most demanding surfaces
• seamless soft edge-blending
• morph between different screen Warps
to track dynamic surfaces

Timeline
MIDI component
New Rackmount Case
timeline is a very powerful show controller built directly into the interface of the hippotizer. it is now possible to create
sophisticated sequences of commands, state changes, fades, in fact anything that hippotizer v3 can do, and relate it
directly to multiple timelines. all media and parameters will stay in perfect sync, aligned to the master timeline clock,
even in a network consisting of many hippotizers.
control any hippotizer function from an external
miDicontroller quickly and easily. includes instant learn
function, and now supports feedback too. the addition
of a cost effective control device such as the behringer
bcF2000 suddenly means you have faders at your
fingertips ready to operate a show live with ease. to add
and learn any function from Zookeeper, simply drag and
drop it into the component.
• custom tour-proof design
• solid construction with an inner/outer cell
for maximum torsion stability
• intelligent cooling management
• Professional modular break-out panels at the rear
• Direct access lcD front panel
• card retention system which holds extension cards
in place even on the toughest tour.
• clear leD failure warning – software engine
failure results in front leDs turning red.

Hippotizer . . . I think it’s THE DOG’S!
After switching to this product on
my recent tours I’m now genuinely
excited about the future of timeline

The jump in features with the launch of Hippotizer V3
software has been a milestone for all our projects.
Rehearsals on X-Factor are now uninterrupted by
adding new media. The content guys upload new
media on the fly over HippoNet with the artists
rehearsing, us programming and the creative process
is never interrupted by the technology. This is a product
made by people who truly understand what’s expected
from equipment on high-profile live productions.

I’ve worked with some great products over the years. I’ve
also worked with some great people. But its rare to find a
professional product where the software and the people
behind it exhibit flexibility and understanding in equal
measures. You can almost feel their enthusiasm for your
show as you navigate around the control screen!

New for 2008:
3.1 software improves existing features to
make integrating hippotizer easier and more comprehensive.
at the same time we’ve introduced some ground breaking new
software components to ensure that hippotizer continues to be
the ultimate one box solution.
When you need to pull a rabbit out of the hat you need the
solution at your fingertips so hippotizer 3.1 software brings a
wealth of new features to provide solutions when you need them
and encourage you to be more creative with shows at any level.

ScreenThief
Sound
Component
Black Level
Compensation
Hippotizer can now
handle in-layer sound by
simply importing movies
which contain an audio
track. Play the clip and
the audio plays. Reverse
the clip, or slow it down
and the audio will follow.
Simple, yet this opens up
Hippotizer for even more
applications.
By connecting an external
Colorimeter such as the
Sencore OCT1000, the
BLC component can now
compensate for colour
imbalance between
multiple projectors by
adjusting the colour
and brightness across
all servers in a setup.
This revolutionary new
component will change
the speed at which
multi-screen shows are
ready and compensates
for differences in colour
balance between
projector lamps of
different ages. This
component removes
undesirable side effects
of overlapping projectors
when working with
dark content.
Capture any PC
screen and feed it into
Hippotizer as the source
for any layer. In fact
capture the output of
multiple PCs and use them
as a source for multiple
layers. Remote screen
capture isn’t new but
ScreenThief is a quantum
leap in screen capture
software with almost
unperceivable latency,
high resolution (1280 x
1024 recommended) and
no need for additional
capture cards. Feed
PowerPoint presentations
directly into your
Hippotizer, display
the content of web
pages in realtime.

Simple Mode
HMap2
PhatController
Scheduler
An alternative
configuration using a
reduced features set and
clever auto-blending
features for creating those
less demanding shows.
This component enables bi-directional communication
between Hippotizer V3 and external devices such
as lighting consoles and visualisation software.
Features include content thumbnails, live previews and
autopatching. Thumbnails on your console make it
easier and quicker to select the media from a Lighting
Designer/Operators point of view. Live previews of the
layer and master will give the Lighting designer a low
frame rate representation of the media. Auto-patching
enables the lighting console to patch it automatically
with the necessary amount of masters and layers.
Hippotizer takes control!
With PhatController all
systems can now send
commands to external
devices by RS232 or
Ethernet. What’s more
PhatController commands
can be added to timelines
so you can control
devices such as
projector shutters or
matrix switchers.
Sometimes you want to
trigger events against
the clock, literally.
The Scheduler allows
triggering of any
parameter or even
multiple timelines.
And because of
HippoNet’s ability to
share components you
can synchronise many
machines to one clock
and it will happen bang
on cue. Permanent
installations, digital
signage and visitor
attractions can all benefit
from this simple but highly
effective feature.
TelNet
Component
With the new TelNet
component you can now
control any parameter
of any Hippotizer over a
network using standard
TCP networking protocol.
Many external devices
support this protocol and
it will open up many new
options for integration
including permanent
installation and
architectural applications
