RICHMOND/PETER
A CONDOCOLLABORATION
OF ART, FASHION,
DESIGN AND GOOD
TASTE IN TORONTO’S
SOHO SOUTH
NEIGHBOURHOOD
AT RICHMOND
AND PETER.
The story of Tableau unfolds below, on and
above a table. Historical preservation meets
modern design and style in the form of a podium,
built to embrace a piece of Toronto’s heritage.
This table, built on strong supporting legs, divides
space, separates use, gracefully identifies public
and private areas and yet as a unified form
creates a structure that is distinctly and
undeniably Tableau.
4
Tableau is a 36-storey mixed-use building designed by Wallman Architects featuring 410 residential
suites, 25,000 sq.ft. of office space and retail space at the ground level. Suites and amenities are
beautifully designed by Cecconi Simone with outdoor space and landscape created by Claude Cormier
Landscape Architects. The signature element of the building is how various aspects – commercial,
residential and heritage, public and private – fit together. The residential portion of the building sits on
a structural table above the site’s existing warehouse building. The front of the warehouse is being
reinterpreted and reconstructed and will accommodate the commercial office space, ground floor lobby
and retail. This architectural interpretation also serves to create a large, four-storey colonnaded public
plaza on Richmond Street.

An approach to
suite design that
works for the
modern mindset.
Fun. Flexible.
Versatile. the
magic starts in
Cecconi Simone’s
“smart design”
kitchen.
now you see it
now you don’t
Yes, you’ll appreciate the custom designed
cabinetry with its choice of black, red, green or
wood grain finishes and the custom dining table
modeled after Shayne Dark’s striking “Nova”
(available à la carte). But what you will really
adore are our kitchen’s retractable doors. Open
your kitchen up. Close it when you don’t need it.
Work the options.

Floor-to-ceiling rolling doors can be found
throughout the suite that allow you to change,
modify or enlarge the space to your liking.

Our colonnade’s
mosaic-tiled floor,
soaring columns
and reinterpreted
heritage building
are a feast for
the eyes. Adding
spice to the
creative flavour:
Shayne Dark’s
dynamic “Nova”.
Our conscious conservation of the area’s
mercantile past, by designing a table to sit
above the existing heritage building.
Designed by Montreal-based Claude Cormier,
the mosaic-tiled plaza defines the Richmond
Street urban space adjacent to the reconstructed
warehouse building. A new public green space,
also by Cormier, creates a juxtaposed natural
escape across the street.
28
A vibrant green 90’ high art installation by Shayne Dark entitled “Nova”.
Specifically designed to interact with, and project through the table,
it takes its place as an integral and iconic feature of the building design.

The strength of Tableau’s presence and
the integration of art, design, and function
are apparent in the Lobby. Designed by
Cecconi Simone and displaying all the
sensibilities distinct to Tableau, the Lobby
will have 18’ ceilings, terrazzo floors,
a marble clad feature wall on one side,
and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking
the public plaza on the other. An entryway
as distinguished as it is sumptuous
and dramatic.

An area to get
excited about!
A 20th century
warehouse district
that’s redefining
itself through a
residential cultural
mix that’s bound
to get people
talking.
We like to think of it as South Soho – the area just
below Queen and enough above King West to be
a scene of its own. Consider the fusion of Queen
Street’s fashion vibe and the high design influence
of the neighbourhood’s reinvigorated arts-andculture scene. Who lives here? People with an
interest in art, fashion, urban life and sustainability
who want to be close to the action. Entrepreneurs,
artists, designers, visionaries, idealists, culture
hounds certainly. To find out what they’re wearing,
doing and talking about, join us...

on a landmark project,
one that recognizes the
immense potential of
this South Soho locale.
