Little Spook Laban
celebrates 50 years
Lilla spöket Laban
Little Spook Laban
Inger & Lasse Sandberg
Little Spook is a sweet little ghost who wants to be as
scary as his father. But there is a problem; Little Spook
is scared of ghosts! And he doesn’t like the darkness at
the Royal Palace Good Morning Sun either. He is in fact
a very kind and helpful little ghost, not at all like his big
scary father. The first book about Little Spook Laban was
published in 1965. This classic is now
relaunched in a beautiful special
anniversary edition.

»Summer in the Woods combines classic
comedy, fairytale and drama, creating
a story that goes right into your heart.«
Sommar i stora skogen
Summer in the Woods
Ulf Stark & Eva Eriksson
It is summer in the Big Woods. The air is full of
birdsong, scents and expectations. The Tomten
takes a cup of birch-leaf tea and airs out the
cabin after winter.
As usual, it is busy in the rabbit hole under
the huge oak tree. Grandpa is teaching bunny
school to the young bunnies. The first summer
flowers are put in front of the class to smell and
taste. The grown-ups talk about something
called Midsummer, some kind of party, like
Christmas, but in the summer. Do you have a
Christmas tree? Do you give speeches? Do
you dance? Are you supposed to wear a hat?
Owl, who knows everything, says Midsummer
is full of magic, love and strange things. Some
bunnies dance, kiss and play and others get
married. They’d better watch out!
A huge, terrible storm sweeps through the
woods. The trees sway, rain pelts down and
the animals flee for their lives. They take refuge
at the Tomte’s old farm where there’s room for
everybody. When the storm is over, Midsummer
brings sun and the nicest wedding anybody has
ever seen, with a big party in the yard.
The follow-up to Christmas in the Big Woods
is a totally magical story in 22 parts. Ulf Stark
combines classic comedy, fairytale and drama,
creating a story that goes right into your heart.
Eva Eriksson has made almost one hundred
lovely, world-class illustrations in color. This
is yet another example of Ulf Stark’s and Eva
Eriksson’s joyful and gripping masterpieces.
Christmas in the Woods is now sold
to seven countries.

Picture books Non-fiction
Humor and quirky
facts that children love
A series by Sarah Sheppard about our
friends in the forest. This book series
contains one main book in a lager format,
introducing all the animals of the forest,
and their life during the different seasons
of the year. It is followed by several titles in
a slightly smaller format, with the rabbit,
the deer, the squirrel and the fox respectively, as main characters for each book.
Sarah Sheppard has shown that she is
the master of non-fiction for children
in several of her previous books, and this
time she takes her mix of humor and
quirky facts that children love so much,
one step further!

»The playful illustrations and the clear

Odla steg för steg
Gardening, Step by Step
Clara Lidström & Annakarin Nyberg
Why aren’t there more nonfiction books that children can use
without adult involvement? This question became the catalyst for
Clara Lidström and Annakarin Nyberg’s do-it-yourself books, a series
of books written for elementary school children who like to bake, tinker
and grow things.
The books were written for children and when you read them you
think, “I can do this by myself!” The playful illustrations and the clear
instructions make it impossible to resist being pulled into the joy of
creativity. ”Use what you have” is a red thread throughout the books,
main themes are creativity and recycling. Using a recipe to bake
something or building something from a drawing should not necessitate
expensive and complicated equipment, and you shouldn’t need a big
yard just to grow something.
Clara Lidström, born in 1986, is a writer, author, photographer and
stylist. She is the creator behind one of Sweden’s most followed blogs.
Annakarin Nyberg, born in 1975, is an internet researcher with a
doctorate, a lecturer and author.

Gengången
Ghost Alley
Ingelin Angerborn
When Ellinor sees the jewelry case she immediately knows she has to
have it. It’s tucked away all the way back in a cluttered second-hand
store, stuffed into an old potty. The case is amazingly beautiful – golden
with one of those little ballerinas that dance when you wind up the built-in
music box. Ellinor believes it will be expensive, so she’s amazed when
the peculiar woman in the store just gives it to her. “It’s free for the right
person,” she says.
Even though the ballerina is injured and doesn’t dance anymore,
the case is the most beautiful thing Ellinor has ever owned. She loves the
red velvet, the mirror wall behind the ballerina and the tender melody
of the music box. But it doesn’t take long before her excitement turns into
discomfort. What did the woman in the store mean by the right person?
And what is happening in the mirrors inside the case?

The first time Frida sees Jakob it is as if the whole world stops. A
swirling tornado spins through her chest into the very center of her
stomach. He leaves but his gaze stays with her – it leaves burn marks
inside of her.
They are drawn to each other with a force they can’t resist – the
well-mannered minister’s daughter and the flaky hockey guy. But when
Frida hears rumors that Jakob is using drugs, and starts suspecting
that he is hiding things from her, love gets complicated. Maybe it’s not
as easy as it is in Metallica’s song Nothing Else Matters.
