Verdant mountains rising up from turquoise coral fringed lagoons, French chic and a touch of
luxury all contribute to making The Islands of Tahiti irresistible. What we often simply refer to as
Tahiti is actually five archipelagos known as French Polynesia, officially still part of France. Tahiti
is the largest of the Society Islands, which also includes the gorgeous islands of Moorea and
Bora Bora. The iconic beauty of The Islands of Tahiti is well known. Coral reefs, abundant with
marine life, protect impossibly blue shallow lagoons - perfect places for swimming, watersports
or simply admiring from an idyllic stretch of beach. Make a dream come true and find yourself
in an overwater bungalow, waking up in luxury and diving into warm turquoise waters straight
from your own deck.
The Islands of Tahiti offer a unique and memorable experience - Enjoy!

Travel Tips
French Polynesia is also known as The Islands of Tahiti. There are 118 islands comprising The Islands of Tahiti, of which
Tahiti is the main island and the home of the capital city of Papeete. Faa’a International Airport is located on The Island of
Tahiti approximately 5 kilometres west of Papeete.
From Australia, Air Tahiti Nui is the international airline to The Islands of Tahiti. It offers flights from Australia to Papeete,
via Auckland.
International flights arrive on the island of Tahiti. Due to crossing the International Dateline, most flights from Australia
arrive the day before they depart. Holiday packages in The Islands of Tahiti will usually require one night in Papeete before
travelling to another island the following morning. Most passengers returning to Australia will require one night in Papeete
prior to departure, as flights leave early in the morning.
Air Tahiti is a private, domestic airline which links all five archipelagos. Travel between some islands, such as Tahiti to
Moorea, can be made by high-speed catamaran.
We recommend booking the same hotel chain throughout your visit, as ‘Island Combo’ specials are available. We
also recommend booking transfers throughout your visit as many resorts are located on islets within the lagoon, only
accessible by boat.
Passports & Visas
As your Tahiti specialist, our team is brimming with suggestions to create a unique and memorable
itinerary for you. With 118 amazing islands to discover there are endless possibilities, from wild and
enticing to pristine and luxurious. The Islands of Tahiti await you…

Currency
The local currency is the French Pacific Franc (XPF). There are plenty of ATMs and banks in Tahiti however access can
be difficult in the outer islands. Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, boutiques and other tourist
establishments. We do recommend you carry some local currency for smaller purchases.
Note: AUD$1 = 80 XPF approximately.

passport with six months validity beyond the date of departure from The Islands of Tahiti.
If you are a non-Australian passport holder please check your visa requirements with the appropriate Embassy or
Consular office. Please note you may also require a transit visa for New Zealand if you are flying via Auckland.

Bora Bora
Only a 50 minute flight from Tahiti you will find the stunning island of Bora Bora,
undoubtedly the world’s most beautiful lagoon. It is known as the Romance Island and
home of the famous overwater bungalows.
Bora Bora
Bora Bora
Your first glimpse of the amazing colours of the Bora Bora lagoon are on arrival at the Motu
Mute airport which is located on a motu, a small sandy island. The majority of hotels and
resorts are built on motus in the lagoon surrounding the main island, with Mount Otenamu
peak as its centrepiece.
The array of blue colours in the lagoon is mesmerising and the waters are warm
and clear.
Bora Bora truly is a paradise!
Our Must Dos in Bora Bora

Cruising
The Paul Gauguin was designed specifically to sail the shallow seas of The Islands of Tahiti, visiting
small ports that larger ships can’t reach and effortlessly blending into the stunning natural beauty
of the South Seas. She offers an extension of the informal, relaxing environment of the islands,
coupled with five-star service, comfort, and luxury. Spacious suites and staterooms (more than
70% with private balconies), an on-board water sports marina, a choice of three open-seating
dining venues, and an extensive spa are among her luxurious attributes. The atmosphere aboard
radiates warmth, informality, and Polynesian flair. The troupe of Gauguines - local Tahitians who
serve as cruise staff, entertainers, and storytellers - add the unique personality of Tahiti to every
sailing.

TAHITI TRAVEL CONNECTION – BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS. Please read carefully.
BOOKINGS
All reservations are subject to availability at the time of booking. Any verbal
quote given is only an estimate of the price which will be effective only upon
the issuing of a written advice on confirmation of the reservation. All bookings
with Tahiti Travel Connection (“TTC”) are subject to the terms and conditions
and limitations of liability imposed by airlines, hoteliers, coach operators, and
other service providers including, but not limited to, rail, car hire and restaurant
operators whose services we utilise, some of which limit or exclude liability
in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage.
Bookings with carriers or tour operators are also subject to the carrier’s terms
and conditions as printed or referred to in their tickets and/or timetables and/or
regulations. TTC and/or its agents reserve the right, without notice, to modify,
cancel or withdraw any of the arrangements and in this event the full amounts
paid will be returned to the customer, and upon rendering the same, all liability
of TTC and/or its agents in respect thereof shall cease. TTC and/or its agents
reserve the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any
group at any time. TTC reserves the right to adjust any price without notice
whatsoever at any time up to the day full payment is received by TTC.
Charming and authentic, small lodgings
and family-run hotels are known as
pensions. They can be found throughout
the five archipelagos of The Islands of
Tahiti.
Pensions are perfect for those
travellers who prefer the
simplicity and authenticity of
a local experience offering the
chance to be immersed in daily
Tahitian life.
DEPOSITS, FINAL PAYMENT
A non-refundable deposit of $600 per booking must be paid at the time of booking.
Bookings for which this deposit is not received are subject to cancellation without

terms and conditions of each operator. Firm reservations cannot be made until
the required deposit is received. The full payment must be received not less
than 45 days prior to departure. If the balance payment is not received by TTC
by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and to
apply the appropriate cancellation charges. Payments by credit card are subject
to merchant fees.
AMENDMENT FEES
For each amendment requested after confirmation a fee of $50 will be charged
in addition to any charges levied by hotels, ground/cruise operators or airlines.
The fee will be $100 if vouchers have already been issued. An amendment
constitutes a change to an existing booking and not a transfer to another tour or
date, wherein cancellation fees may apply.

or volume of luggage allowed and to comply with those requirements. Failure to
do so might incur additional charges or refusal to carry the excess luggage.

and conditions under which transportation and other services are provided.

whether negligent or otherwise, of those Airlines, coach operators, shipping
companies, hoteliers or other persons providing services in connection with
your tour or travel pursuant to a contract between them and yourselves and
over whom we have no direct and exclusive control. We do not accept liability
in contract or in tort for any accident, injury, damage, loss, delay, irregularity,
additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any act or
event which are beyond our control, or which are not preventable by reasonable
diligence on our part including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, fire,

Photographs are purely for decorative purposes and do not show any service
offered or any location visited on any of the tours contained in this brochure
or advertised by any tour provider. Photographs of hotel rooms are only an
example of a room available and do not necessarily represent the type of room
or the room which will be made available.
EXTRA SERVICES
TTC, its agents and any tour operator or provider of services is not liable for any
changes, fees or costs not included in the services offered, and any additional
costs are the responsibility of the passenger.
ERRORS OR OMMISSIONS (E&OE)

service, notwithstanding that the invoice may have been paid in full. It is the
responsibility of the Travel Agent to ensure all invoice details are correct and that
the client acknowledges all cancellation conditions.
