NEEF POLICY IN NAMIBIA
I do hope that by this point in time everybody is familiar with the national debate regarding the new NEEEF policy and the effect such a law could have on the private
sector (if not, please let me know so that we can get you up to speed pronto!!).
The Prime Minister has invited the public to register comments and concerns with
her office until the 29th April 2016 regarding the new policy and bill. Based on a
meeting we had two weeks ago, we have written a letter which highlights the potential problems that each envisioned pillar/section in the policy may have on the private sector as a whole, as well as some general issues.


Please note that the aim of this letter is to raise our concerns in a mature manner on
implementing such legislative prohibitive policies on an economic sector that thrives
on the principals of economic competitiveness and the free market system, nothing
more and nothing less.
We would now like to call on everybody that is interested to come and read the letter
and, if they agree with the content, to sign it with their name. We have decided that
the letter will be kept in hard copy only.

This is so that we can prevent the leaking of the content onto social and public platforms before it has the chance to be delivered to the Office of the Prime Minister via
the official channels. I think we have all seen the effects and results in the past
months of what happens when such stuff is pasted out of context in social medias –
nothing productive but pure chaos.
To that effect we have one hardcopy of the letter at the Tandelta Technologies Office
(16 Faraday Street, Southern Industrial). Another is available at Edelstahlbau in the
Northern Industrial and at Ahrens Guns in Prosperita. For people at the coast, we
have given a hardcopy of the letter to G&S Electrical. In Okahandja, there is a copy
of the letter at Outspan Wholesale at Max Straemke’s office.
I urge each and everyone of you to at least try to come and read the letter. It takes
you less than 10 minutes. We need to at least make our voices heard to the government so as to show our opinion regarding such enforced laws that can have dire
consequences for our entire careers and futures in this country. We would like to
send this letter in as soon as possible, so please try to do this before the end of
March 2016.
We have about 100x signatures on hand but aim to for at least 500x to make a good
case with the office of the prime minister.
