One Soldier’s Story
A film about SGT Michael Ingram Jr., and the legacy he left behind.
The event begins at 7:00 pm. Opening remarks by Monroe County Community College President
Dr. David Nixon. Comments by Robert E. Clark Mayor of Monroe. A special presentation by
State Representative Dale Zorn. Director/producer Keith Famie will speak about the making of the film.
National recording artist/BMI songwriter Hunter Brucks with Tasha Lord from the Hunter Brucks Band
will sing the National Anthem. Steve Pichan performs the theme song to the film “Mikie’s Minutes.”
Also featured will be the short film “Remembering the Fallen Heroes of Monroe County”.

‘COMING HOME’ CELEBRATION FOR DOCUMENTARY FILM “ONE
SOLDIER’S STORY” HONORS SOLDIER AND CITY’S SACRIFICES
Sept. 26 Monroe event supports charity Mikie’s Minutes,
providing soldiers the opportunity to call home
WIXOM, Mich., (August 24, 2011) – On Sept. 26 documentary film “One Soldier’s
Story” will conclude its seven-city tour with a special ‘Coming Home’ celebration in
the hometown of featured fallen hero Sgt. Michael Ingram, Jr. The event will be
hosted by nine-time, Emmy-award recipient and director/producer Keith Famie in
the La-Z-Boy Center Meyer Theater at Monroe County Community College,
beginning at 7 p.m.
A procession of Patriot Guard riders and Michigan State Police will escort the
Ingram family and a custom framed uniform of Sgt. Ingram’s to the college. After
arrival, a team led by MSG Jeff Rector from the United States Army Reserve
Funeral Honors Team will then carry the framed uniform into the event.
Dr. David Nixon of Monroe County Community College will open the evening,
followed by remarks from Monroe Mayor Robert E. Clark. MSG Rector’s Funeral
Honors Team will perform the Posting of the Colors, and national recording
artist/BMI songwriter Hunter Brucks with Tasha Lord from the Hunter Brucks Band
will perform the National Anthem. State Representative Dale Zorn will make a
special presentation to the Ingram family.
Prior to introducing “One Soldier’s Story,” director/producer Keith Famie will
present a special short film entitled “Remembering Fallen Heroes of Monroe
County.” This brief film takes a look back at the men and women who gave their
lives in the wars for America.
Proceeds from the event support Mikie’s Minutes, a charity created by the Ingram
family in honor of their son. Mikie’s Minutes is a division of Others First, a 501c3
tax deductible non-profit organization, and provides free calling cards to members
of the U.S. armed forces, enabling them to call their families anytime, anywhere.
Mikie’s Minutes already has shipped more than 39,000 calling card minutes to
United States troops.
