LA CARRAIA
At La Carraia, the focus is on quality and value. These are classical, yet versatile
La Carraia was founded in 1976 by the Gialletti and Cotarella families. Riccardo
Cotarella, one of the world’s most respected authorities on the production and
marketing of Italian wines, is the co-owner and winemaker.
The winery owns a total of 198 acres located in the heart of the Orvieto Classico
appellation. With 172 acres dedicated to the production of Orvieto Classico,
the remainder are planted with Trebbiano, Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Montepulciano grapes.
The wines produced at La Carraia are known for consistent quality and overall
versatility. La Carraia, thanks to its broad and diverse portfolio, is able to satisfy
the needs of both the casual, value-oriented consumer, as well as the most
demanding collector.
“La Carraia”, which has made a name for itself on both national and international
markets, maintains a special bond with the land and its rhythms. Still today,
Odoardo Gialletti and his sons Mauro and Marco make the rounds of the
various vineyards overseeing the work of maintenance to ensure the quality
that is, before anything else, the result of a love for nature and the work of man.

SPECIAL COLLECTION
| the ANGEL VITIGNI line
The Angel Line idea was born during a tour of the best
wineries of Italy and France where one stumbled upon
an ancient carved Art piece depicting a mysterious scene
where an ‘Angel’ is seen upholding a sea shell towards the
sky, as if offering it to the Gods above.
One could imagine through symbolic interpretation, a
depiction of the forces behind the Sky, Water & Mother
Earth, heavenly elements that bring to us humans the drink
from the Gods...
