Sondra Benson
Sondra “Sonny” Benson, age 72 of Unionville, beloved wife of the late Carl Benson passed away peacefully at her
home on Thursday, May 16, 2013.She is survived by her much loved daughter, Kathy Schultz and her husband
Fred of East Hampton.
Sondra and Carl Benson joined the Hundred Club in1978. I came to know her, first through notes we sent to
each other and then through telephone conversations.
Each year, in addition to her dues payment, Sondra would send an additional contribution along with a note expressing her affection for the Hundred Club, her belief in what we do and, always a personal expression of “good
will” to the staff here.
After a few years of exchanging notes, I telephoned Sondra to personally express my appreciation for her loyalty
and support of the Hundred Club over the years. I very soon came to the conclusion that “this was a special
Lady”. We spoke many times over the years and my only regret is that I never met her in person.
God Bless you Sondra, and shame on me for not following up on taking you to the lunch we
spoke about.
