The UConn football team, under head coach
Bob Diaco, returned to bowl play in 2015 at
the St. Petersburg Bowl. The Huskies have
played in six bowl games, including the 2011
Fiesta Bowl, and have won two conference
championships since making the transition
to the FBS in 2003.

This 78,000 square foot on-campus facility opened
its doors in fall 2014. The $36 million facility boasts
practice gyms, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, study
areas, video rooms, and sports medicine and strength
training spaces for our basketball teams.
The Mark R. Shenkman Training Center
& Burton Family Football Complex
Shenkman, an 85,000- square-foot center with
a two-story strength and conditioning area, is
regarded as one of the best football practice
facilities in the country. Burton houses coaches’
offices, meeting rooms, equipment, a studentathlete lounge, study rooms, and sports medicine
and video viewing areas.
