Our community is perpetually filled with excitement, something special is always
happening! The Calabasas Chamber recently held its 20th Annual Calabasas Wine
and Food Event on May 8th and even the much-needed rain couldn’t dampen the
great time had by all. Many thanks to the Wine Tasting committee; you did an
outstanding job!
The Mayor’s Luncheon held on Thursday, May 21st at the beautiful Calabasas
Country Club was absolutely perfect for Calabasas Mayor Lucy Martin. Mayor
Martin’s speech and video presentation about the rescued seals released back to the ocean, was very moving.
The luncheon ended with laughter for a serious cause, to end child hunger worldwide. Red noses were
handed out to the luncheon guests and when everyone placed the noses on, the camera phones went wild
taking pictures, placing them on personal facebook pages which brought more awareness to the cause, well
done Mayor Martin!
As a reminder, Calabasas will be hosting the Great Britain athletes competing in the Special Olympics World
Games this July. Volunteers are still needed for Calabasas Host Town preparations and activities when the
athletes are here. Please visit the Chamber website calabasaschamber.com for more information and sign up
to volunteer for a once in a lifetime opportunity!
