Super League is on the up, with a dynamic new
league structure and a thrilling product on the
pitch, the sport is attracting more fans than ever
before. The Super League season runs from February through to October and in doing so fills
the void of the Premier League and Premiership
Rugby Union off-season.
With more fans follows more media exposure. A
total cumulative domestic TV audience of 24.5m
annually sits Rugby League, as a sport, ahead of
Rugby Union and Cricket. In fact, only Premier
League football attracts higher audiences on SKY
TV than Rugby League.
Rugby League has approximately 7.5m fans across
the UK and according to recent research carried
out by Repucom – the leading name in sports intelligence – these fans are more engaged than
the average consumer.
Hull Kingston Rovers will act as a conduit for its
commercial partners to make the most of the
opportunities offered up by a sport that is growing its media footprint year-on-year. The club
was featured in live televised games an unprecedented 15 times during the 2015 season.
Such exposure gives our commercial partners a
great platform on which to achieve their objectives with an outstanding return on investment.
The equivalent advertising value of the exposure
provided by sponsorship of Hull Kingston Rovers
demonstrates incredible value for money, with a
televised match effectively acting as an 80 minute
advert for our sponsors. Rugby League is growing
into a truly global sport, demonstrated by Hull
Kingston Rovers matches featuring in over 2000
hours of coverage across the world in 2014. Coverage which delivered a media value of nearly
£4m for our partners.
