The homesite of Revolutionary War Colonel Charles Lynch is
on the National List of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic
Landmark. Open for tours Thursday through Sunday from midApril through the last Friday
in October, and for rentals year
round. The site includes an
1880 log cabin, gardens and
arboretum, and a brick kitchen
dating to the late 1700s.

Campbell County Historic Courthouse
When Campbell County was
founded in 1784, Jeremiah Rust
donated 50 acres of land and
established Rustburg as the
county seat. In 1848 the Historic
Courthouse was built. Today this
Historic Courthouse is listed in
the National Register of Historic
Places and the Virginia Historic
Landmark Register.

Red Hill
Red Hill is home to the world’s largest collection of Patrick
Henry artifacts. Open to visitors 362 days a year, this
500 acre site also includes Henry’s grave, original law office,
reconstructed home, and outbuildings. Several major events
are held annually, including
an Independence Day
celebration, Christmas
Open House, a Naturalization
Ceremony, Governor Henry
Lectures, and living history
events. The facility is
family oriented.

Built in the early 1960s, Leesville Lake begins at the
base of the Smith Mountain Dam and snakes 17 miles.
Covering 3,270 acres, it provides excellent fishing, boating,
and recreational opportunities.
