HOW DOES INDIVIDUAL DISCERNMENT OF CHARISMS AFFECT THE PARISH?
Discerning charisms communally enables a parish to thrive on the gifts of its people. Far from being “just another
program,” this is a whole new way to look at our parishes. Because we seldom look first at the gifts and call of
individuals, our communities too often contain generous and energetic people who have been burned-out or even
traumatized trying to fill “vacuums” for which they were ill-equipped. But if we look first at our gifts, our communities will
come to be shaped by our loves, because God calls each of us to (and gifts us for) the work that we most love.
Come and experience a Spiritual Gifts’ Inventory process and see how to renew your parish!
Kathy McNicholas is a pastoral associate and director of religious education at Incarnation Parish. Her passion is adult faith formation.

Dones Espirituales y vea cómo renovar tu parroquia!

St. Paul says, “Pray without ceasing.” Thus, prayer has to be more than prescribed words – prayer is a mindset and a
lifestyle leading to a relationship. Using the liturgical year as our framework, we will explore the various ways we can
bring both ourselves and our children into a more intimate relationship with God through diverse ways of praying. We will
look at traditional seasonal devotions as well as surface some new ideas to spark a sense of prayer in both our children and
ourselves.

new people encounter. Join with other ushers, other “hospitality ministers,” to form a deeper understanding of this vital
ministry.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE CONDUCTED TRI-LINGUALLY. For more information, contact Deacon Franco Foti at Our
Lady of the Snows Parish.

hijos.

Mike Patin uses energy, humor and stories to affirm the goodness of God's presence among us while inviting others (and
himself) to take the "next step" in our journey with God.
Mike Patin has had the privilege of speaking in over 115 dioceses in the U.S. and Canada, to groups ranging from 10 to 10,000. He has addressed
youth, adult and intergenerational (family) audiences in diocesan, regional, national and international settings. He has led youth and adult retreats,
parish missions, leadership institutes, and in-services. Audiences have been as diverse as clergy, school faculties, businesses, athletic teams and
hospital staffs.
Mike has worked with teenagers and adults in a variety of settings since 1984. He has experience in the high school setting (six years), and thirteen
years in diocesan youth ministry (CYO/Youth Ministry Office for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, 1990-2003).
Since 2003, he has worked full time as a speaker and “faith horticulturist.”
