Parents and supporters were out in full
force to route on the squad, and
although the final result was not what
they had hoped for the boys efforts were
rewarded when Tyrell Hope drove to the
net and scored 25 seconds into the
second frame.
2011 Games athletes, volunteers,
and the public will be treated to a
free concert daily at 12:00pm and
7:00pm. These high-energy shows
are aimed at celebrating the day’s
athletic achievements and providing
a venue for entertainment, fun, and
artistic expression. You’ll be
astounded by the diversity of talent
presented at Celebration Square, a
perfect continuation of the energy
and intensity witnessed daily at the
Games. You don’t want to miss the
chance to see the talent this
province’s artists have to offer!
They are set to review the game and
prepare for their next game against
Newfoundland.
On the social front everyone is having a
great time, accommodations are
excellent, and Nova Scotia are being
terrific hosts.

After a fresh dump of snow during the night, the Biathletes were greeted with
another brilliant sunny day. After a shaky 1st day, with missing equipment and
second ski bag located at the Freestyle skiing venue 140 km away the team iswas
waxed and ready for today.
Biathlon would like to thank Dan (mission staff for Freestyle Skiing) for bring the ski
bag back to Halifax.
National Artist Program
Our four national artists took off on their road trip
today. For the next few days, they will be winter
camping at Ross Creek Arts Centre in Canning, Nova
Scotia. There they will be learning from
professionals in the areas of music, dance, literary
and visual art. As well, they will begin their trading
card program with elementary students in various
schools in Canning hoping to inspire.
Freestyle Skiing
It was a windy but beautiful, sunny day at Ski Wentworth. Our athletes were very
excited to dawn their skis and hit the slopes. The recent snow fall combined with
the host societies snow making efforts have resulted in near perfect conditions for
this event. Our team spent a good portion of their training session today in the half
pipe. As our athlete do not train in this discipline on a regular basis they are all
going to give it their best in the half pipe. The Yukon will be well represented in the
mogul and aerial competitions later in the week. It is shaping up to be a very
exciting week out at the mountain.
