operation christmas child update
Operation Christmas Child was a huge success in Dallas
County this year. The relay center at the Adel United
Methodist Church reported that 900 gift-filled shoe boxes
were donated. This level of participation from Dallas
County residents is incredible! Thank you to everyone who
built a box, made a donation, or volunteered in any way
that encouraged others in this outreach. Children around
the world will truly be blessed by your kindness.

4-H/FFA Beef weigh-in
On Saturday, December 15 volunteers for Dallas County
Extension and the 4-H program will be holding a beef
weigh in for 4-H and FFA members who want to show
market beef at the state or county fair. Weigh-in will start
with the county only animals for the first hour 9-10 a.m.
and then go on to the state fair and animals which must also
be retinal scanned in order to participate in the state fair. A
retinal scan is simply a close up picture of the eyes of each
animal. This allows you to see the retina which like a finger
print is different for every eye. Weigh in will start at 9 a.m.
and finish at noon.
