Potentate’s Message...
Greetings Nobles All:
It has been a great Summer for Bedouin
Shrine! School has started back and the
temperature soon will be coming down. We have
had a great time this summer with the Bedouin
Shrine Ball at Western Hills, South Central Shrine
Association we hosted here at the Temple,
Imperial Session in Houston, the Summer Cooler
and all the golf tournaments conducted by
Haskell County, McIntosh County, Okmulgee Co
and Chair-O-Dair shrine Clubs. If you didn’t make
it to the Dinner Club here at the temple in August
you missed a really good time and a great meal. Special thanks to
“Grilling Bob” Lackey and his lady Sandy, Cliff “RoHo” Smith and his lady
Brenda, Gene “Frosty” Foster, Bill “Tuna Fish” Johnson and
Phil “Fireboots” Thompson and all the others that helped put on a great
meal, and thanks to all the ladies that helped with the decorations.
If you haven’t got a raffle ticket yet, you need to get it soon. We have
to turn in the tickets at the end of September for the big drawing on
the 10th of October. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, for the
first time ever, all three Shrine Temples, (Bedouin, Akdar and India) are
working together and having a 75 gun raffle, the tickets are $20.00
each and on October 10th a ticket will be drawn every 15 minutes.
If you win, your ticket will go back into the hopper and you have a
chance to win again. If you win you will be sent a certificate to take
to your nearest licensed gun dealer and the weapon will be shipped
to that dealer and you can pick it up there. If you are looking to buy a
chance contact Dennis Sparks or contact the front office at the temple.
September is going to be a great month, the clowns are putting on
the “Clown Car Show” at Honor Heights Park September the 12th. If
you have not been to a Clown Car Show, it is really a fun time. All the
cars and motor cycles are really something to see. The food is good
and prizes are given away all day. Come out and enjoy and thank the
clowns for all they do. And right behind the car show is the Bedouin
Shrine Circus starting September 14th through the 20th. We are
looking forward to a great circus this year. Your Chief Rabban has put
together what looks to be a great circus and we are looking forward to
helping him make this a huge success.
Just a reminder, if you haven’t sent in you 2015 dues, you need to get it
in soon. Your membership is what allows Bedouin Shrine to continue
to help the children of South East Oklahoma. We currently have 872
children we are actively supporting and making their lives better. If
you know of any child that needs our help, please contact the temple
and let us help. Making children lives better is what we all do.

Bedouin Clowns
Long ago when men cursed and
beat the ground with sticks,
It was called witchcraft; TODAY IT’S
CALLED GOLF!!!!!!!!!
Hello all you Clowns,
What a hot, wet, busy summer we
had. We showed the world what
Bedouin Temple is all about!!!
I’m so proud to be a part of this
Temple.
I hope you had a chance to
get out for the august dinner Club.
What a feast we had, my hats off
to the Kitchen staff. It was like
Thanksgiving in August without the
butterball. Thank you to everyone
who came out to Arrowhead mall.
I know all the kids enjoyed themselves even us big kids had a great
time. Way to show support to our
community Bedouin.
Now on to upcoming events:
Bedouin Clown Car Show will be
September 12th.Time is getting
short so if you know of anyone who
would like to sponsor or would like
to donate a door prize. Just let us
know. September 11th at 6:30 we’ll
have a goodie stuffing bag party.
Clowns will provide Pizza.
Then September 14th we need
all the Clowns who can, please

a blast. Nope we’re not done yet
that same day the circus kicks off.
So kick off the dust on them clown
shoes and let’s show everyone what
the Bedouin Clowns are all about.
Having fun bringing laughter and
smiles to everyone and caring for
our Kids.
Till next time, Live by this
Credo: Have a little laugh at life
and look around you for Happiness
instead of sadness. Laughter has
always brought me out of unhappy
situations. The most wasted of
all days is that in which we have
not laughed. Keep on Smiling and
remember the Kids.

Tahlequah, 16th in Sallisaw, then over to McAlester the 17th and 18th,

The circus promises to be the biggest and best yet, Tigers, Lions,

comedy acts. Plus our own award winning Bedouin Shrine Clowns.
Remember our purpose is to help kids. The circus is our largest
general fund, fund raiser of the year (the daily operations of the
Temple ).Let’s support our circus which in turn supports our
fraternity and the future of Bedouin Shrine for year’s to come. Without
Shriners their wouldn’tbe any Shrine Hospitals. Let’s continue all of the
great work we do on a daily basis. Remember “Bedouin is the Heart
Beat of the Shrine “

Dear Fellow Iron Horse Patrol
I hope everyone has a Great Labor Day! September is here and with
that brings lots of things. Kids are back in school, vacations are coming
to an end, the temperatures are starting to drop, the Clown Car Show
and the Circus are coming to town! The Clown car show is a great event
with some beautiful cars to see, I hope you make a point to attend.
The Circus starts on the 14th and ends on the 20th. This years Circus is
going to have lots of new acts, so put on that Fez and come out and
support the Temple. Later on this month the organizational parties for
the Ring Race will begin on the 28th. There is still enough time to get
that Master Mason you know that would make a Great Shriner signed
up. Here are a couple of fun circus facts. The first Shrine Circus was
held in Detroit, Michigan in 1906 for the Moslem Shrine Temple. The
Shrine Circus was originally a one-ring affair, but by 1925 it had grown
to three rings. The Detroit Circus is still the largest, in 1996 it ran for 17
days with 40 performances making it not only the oldest Shrine Circus,
but also the most attended. The most Famous venue to host circus is
the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, where the Southern
California Shrine Circus takes place. Here’s a little circus fun. Did you
hear about the human cannonball? He got fired! Till next time…

Our monthly meeting was held on August 11, 2015. I would like to
thank all the ladies who brought food. It was delicious. Next months
meal will be hamburgers & hot dogs. Discussion was held about the
up coming circus in Sept. Circus Chairman Howard Thompson
discussed n depth about getting out and getting banners and
donations . With a $500 donation you can earn a circus shirt. Since we
are only having one show on Thursday it was decided that we would
just have cold cuts that night, with a meal on Friday.
Ladies you now have a brand new bathroom. It has two stalls, one
is a handicapped stall. It is very beautiful. Ladies don’t forget we need
deserts for the circus hospitality room.
We would like to thank the Divan for their attendance at our meeting.
It is appreciated very much.
I would like to encourage all Nobles and their Ladies to support
your club.
Yours in the Faith,
Robert Padgett
