Founded in 1991, ItaLingua brings together
Italian citizens, Italian-Americans and people of
all nationalities to experience the Italian
language. In 1996 Francesca Gaspari joined the
school as a teacher. Her enthusiasm for
teaching and her passion for ItaLingua carried
over to her leadership of the school, as Director.
Her goal 25 years ago was to “create a piece of
Italy in San Francisco, a cultural center where
people can feel the Italian atmosphere…where
conversation and learning are combined with
the simple cultural pleasures of my country. I
want to build a community that is more than
just a school.”
