All-round player
At a typical work­station, one Tensor STB tool can be
used for several applications within the same torque
range. In some applications you can use one Tensor STB
for both sides.

The Tensor STB system
To work with Power Focus 4000, Tensor STB nutrunners
require a Communication Kit, which consists of a serial
port adapter (access point), power cable and serial cable
(supplies the serial port adapter with power).
The Communication Kit
• Offers fast easy installation
• Requires no fixed infrastructure
Pair & Play
Pairing the tool with the controller is quick and easy,
which makes the system flexible when an application
change is needed.
IRC Focus
The IRC Focus controller is specially designed for the
Tensor STB. The main benefit, in addition to all the
usual Power Focus 4000 features, is that the IRC Communication kit is built into the IRC Focus. The IRC Focus
cannot be used together with Atlas Copco cable tools.
IRC is also equipped with AFH (Adaptive Frequency
Hopping). With this spread-spectrum technology the
transceivers hop from one frequency to the next at
fixed time intervals. A major advantage of this design
is that it offers a more robust link, especially in noisy
environments.
IRC offers many benefits:
• Reliable communication
• Low power consumption
• Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH)
• Up to 100 meters in open environments and more than 50 meters in
most industrial environments.
• When radio communication is lost,
the Tensor STB continues to perform
tightenings, stores the results and
data is sent when the connectivity is
re-established.
Fewer parts in stock
Since no cables are required, there are no cables to
keep in stock. In addition to this, Tensor STB shares
many of the components and accessories used in
Tensor ST. And by eliminating dirty cables, your endproducts remain clean.

The lightweight cordless tool is ideal for use by operators who must cover great distances on large structures,
such as airplanes and offroad vehicles.
Vehicle interiors and stations with narrow spaces
No cord means free movement for operators, which is ideal for tightenings on the instrument panel, vertical bar,
ground wire, secure battery, fuse box, side impact sensor and the slide sensor.
Rework and underneath the vehicle stations
Tensor STB is highly suitable for rework stations
since it’s so flexible and light.
Airbag applications
It’s just as intelligent as Tensor ST and therefore the
right tool for safety-critical applications such as steering
wheel airbag and side airbag curtain.
