September 1 , 2014 is getting more and more prestigious, thanks to the outstanding participation of Arsene Wenger,
Gunners' historic manager, unanimously considered one of the best trainers of all time. Among the players who will join
in the match, there will be the French forward David Trezeguet as well as the new captain of the Internazionale, Andrea
Ranocchia and Andrea Pirlo, Juventus midfield and pillar of the National Italian Soccer Team. The International dream
team, which will give life to the first Interreligious Match for Peace, is growing further, after the immediate
confirmations of Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Buffon, Zinedine Zidane, Javier Zanetti, Roberto Baggio, Yuto Nagatomo and
Samuel Eto’o…
The presence of other soccer stars will be made official in the next few days: for the first time, players and trainers, who
are used to compete at the highest level, will be all together on the field, united by the common goal of representing
sport's highest values, such as respect, social cohesion and fraternity among peoples.

All proceeds will go to the Scholas Occurrentes projects, the public educational entity promoted by Pope Francis, which
is based in the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences and uses technology, art and sport to promote social
integration and the meeting of cultures, and Fondazione P.U.P.I. Onlus, created by Paula and Javier Zanetti (Inter F.C.
and National Argentinean Soccer Team champion) who, for more than ten years, has been promoting and supporting
distance adoption and assistance programs to help several disadvantaged situations.
The event is sponsored by the Comune di Roma, CONI, FIGC and Lega Serie A and will be broadcast live on TV Rai Uno
and on the radio on Radio Uno. During the event, Radio Italia will provide music entertainment.
THE PROJECT
Fondazione P.U.P.I. Onlus and Scholas Occurrentes have decided to “join forces” and focus their energies on this
project. The entire proceeds of the Match will go to thousands of kids in the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires who will
receive a concrete educational aid thanks to “Un’Alternativa di Vita”.

FONDAZIONE P.U.P.I Onlus: “Un’Alternativa di Vita” is aimed at children aged 3 to 13 years old who live in
disadvantaged socio-economic groups. Since 2001, the Fondazione – in the spaces of its registered office in Buenos
Aires (ARG) – has provided young people with a network of service and support: homework help, health support, social
care, recreational and educational activities.
Scholas OCCURRENTES: Scholas wants to improve education and achieve community integration, with particular
emphasis on those with fewer resources, by involving all social actors, and by linking schools and education networks
around the world through educational, sporting and artistic projects.
