The program planned will provide Continuing Medical Education credits (10.75) as well as some
entertaining events!

Saturday’s socio-economic program is one you should not miss, especially in light of the new
HealthCare legislation happening in our country! Experts will be available to answer your questions &
concerns regarding how these new laws will affect your practices!
Residents from the ten neurosurgical programs will round out the meeting on Sunday! This event was
so successful last year that this year, one lucky resident will be awarded a $500 prize for their
presentation.

Discuss the aspects of the Affordable Care Act, including Health Care Exchanges and Accountable
Care Organizations.
Describe strategies for negotiating with hospital administrations for resources and contracts for service
agreements.
Describe the evolution of medical care in motorsports with respect to head injuries.
Explain how the AANS, CSNS and the CMA represent their neurosurgical interests.
Discuss the resources available to treat patients in CA with Neurosurgical diseases and the research
being conducted in training programs in CA.
ACCREDITATION This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with
the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the
joint sponsorship of the AANS and the California Association of Neurological Surgeons (CANS). The AANS is
accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The AANS designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.75AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians
should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
INTENDED AUDIENCE This program is intended for physicians, residents and
allied health professionals who include neurosurgery in their practice.
METHOD of INSTRUCTION There will be didactic lectures, case
presentations/discussions, panel discussions and formal discussion periods.

CANS has reserved Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and
Skip Barber Racing School for a ½ day racing program
the morning of Friday, Jan. 17th, 2014.
Damage Liability & waiver: Client will pay up to a max. of $2000 per
vehicle per incident for all parts, labor & other expenses required to
repair or replace any vehicle or other Skip Barber equipment, or any
guardrail or other race track property, which I s damaged or
disarranged resulting from the operation of a vehicle by any event
participant. However, clients damage liability can be waived
(reduced to $0) by paying $175 per participant prior to the
commencement of the event.
Opening Reception
Please plan to attend the opening reception on
Friday, January 17th, 2014 at 6:30pm. Come join your
colleagues for drinks and small bites!
This event will be held at the Dolphins Ballroom &
Foyer!
The special conference rates from $189-299 are available for a limited number of rooms.
