Provides fair, compassionate treatment for victims and witnesses of violent crimes to ensure they
are not lost nor forgotten in the legal process. These crimes include murder, reckless homicide,
manslaughter, sexual or physical abuse, spouse or child abuse, robbery, kidnapping, wanton
endangerment, and residential burglary.

SERVICES: Help victims understand their rights and keep informed of all court dates.
Accompany victims and witnesses to court. Provide emotional support, and help file for
financial aid through the Crime Victim Compensation Board. Notify victims when criminals are
released into custody. Inform victims and witnesses of all probation or parole hearings so they
may have input to the process. Identify services needed by victims, witnesses, and their families
and refer to appropriate agencies.

ELIGIBILITY: Must be a victim or witness of a violent crime, or a family member or survivor
of a victim or witness.

Family Support Services
Protective service agency reference for abused/neglected children and adults, cooperate with
juvenile and circuit courts. Provide treatment to youths in trouble. Upgrade family life.

SERVICES: Care4Ever is a state certified, social model, senior adult day center. The center is
for senior adults who mentally or physically cannot stay at home alone or for those who want
and need socialization. Care4Ever is an ADA compliant facility and offers activities, nutritious
food, socialization, fun, and can include personal care if needed. The center allows participants
to engage in activities they enjoy while family members and loved ones can work, run errands or
just relax knowing their loved one is safe and secure.
FEES: Different daily rates are available: drop in, half day, full day or personal care only rates.
Private pay or long term care insurance is accepted.
TRANSPORTATION: Wheelchair vans and a sit and lift seat van are available with trained
drivers to escort participants to and from the center if needed. There is an extra charge
depending upon where the participant lives.

The Area Agency on Aging is the regional planning and administration agency for the Older
Americans Act and Kentucky Aging Programs. The Agency provides information on area
resources and contracts for delivery of a variety of programs for the elderly, including home and
community services. Agency also provides Benefits Counseling to include assistance with
accessing and interpreting benefits/resources.
SUPPORT PROGRAMS - Service provided to people 60 and older include: congregate meals,
home-delivered meals, in-home services, disease prevention and health promotion and Elder
Abuse Prevention. Many services are provided through local senior centers.
*STATE HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SHIP) - Information and
assistance services are available through a network of counselors and referral sources. Health
insurance and benefits information is available to people who are eligible for Medicare.
*HOMECARE - In-home services for individuals 60 and older with functional disabilities who
are at risk for requiring long-term, institutional care include: Personal care; home management;
home health aide; home-delivered meals; home repair; help with household chores; respite;
escort; and case management and assessment.
*CONSUMER DIRECTED OPTION (CDO) - The consumer directed option allows eligible
Medicaid waiver members to chose their own providers for non-medical services.
* HOME MODIFICATION: Wheel chair accessible ramps are provided for qualified
individuals. Repair Affair provides home repair for qualified home owners. As all work is by
volunteers and man-power is limited, applications are required.

* Nursing home LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN - The Kentucky Long-Term Care
Ombudsman program advocates for residents of nursing homes, personal care homes and family

people 18 and older with functional loss of two or more limbs and who have the ability to hire
and supervise an attendant.

The Family Caregiver Support Program addresses the needs and concerns of people, age 60 and
over, and their families. It specifically recognizes the needs of the family caregiver and
addresses those needs by offering a wide-range of direct temporary services, including: respite
(scheduled breaks for caregivers), support and counseling, information and assistance, caregiver
education/training, and various supplemental services to aid caregivers. The program also
provides support to grandparents over the age of 60 raising grandchildren under the age of 18.
ELIGIBILITY:
1. Anyone caring for an individual aged 60 and over.
2. Grandparent/relative caregiver, aged 60 and over, caring for a grandchild/minor relative
under the age of 18.

to community needs. It is part of the National Senior Service Corps, the national network for
senior service where men and women from all walks of life can put their life experiences to work
in their communities.

SERVICES: Light house cleaning, short distance transportation, companionship, and respite.
These services are provided by volunteers at no charge to eligible clients.
SERVICE AREA: Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, Nelson, Marion, and Washington counties.
ELIGIBILITY: Volunteers- individuals 55 years old or over, on a fixed ‘low’ income,
physically able to provide in-home assistance or short distance transportation. Volunteers
receive $2.65 per hour (tax free), and mileage reimbursement.
Clients- need to be 21 years old or over and have one or more physical, mental or emotional
need.

The Kentucky Department for Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) oversees and monitors the
administration of programs and services at the local and regional level, establishes policy and
advocates on behalf of Kentucky's elders and people with disabilities. DAIL works to support

Mom’s Meals is a USDA approved and inspected fresh food preparation and delivery business
dedicated to providing great tasting, nutritionally sound, FRESH meals to its customers. Meals
are prepared, packaged and shipped, ready to heat meals to a customer’s doorstep throughout the
United States.
Customers can choose from over 35 different meals (over 30 diabetic) and have them delivered
to their door. Utilizing approved USDA technology, food remains fresh for 14 days in the
refrigerator.

CHILDBIRTH CLASSES: ANTICIPATING CHILDBIRTH

Army Community Service Programs are designed to provide Army families, both active duty and
retired, with a centrally located source of information, guidance, and assistance in solving
problems of personal or family nature which are beyond the scope of their own resources
SERVICES:
ACS OUTREACH is your primary information & referral office for military families both on
and off the installation. Outreach promotes all ACS programs and their efforts. The Outreach
Coordinator is the liaison between military and civilian resources available within the
surrounding civilian communities. Outreach assists family members with adaptation to military
lifestyle, focusing on resources, transportation, life skills training workshops, lessons of interest,
translations, prevention and education.
FAMILY ADVOCACY provides crisis intervention, counseling and referral in cases of child
and spouse abuse and family member suicide prevention
CONSUMER AFFAIRS & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE provides budget counseling and
assistance and/or intervention in consumer fraud, problems with landlords, merchants, as well as
provides weekly financial management classes.
FAMILY MEMBER EMPLOYMENT provides assistance to family members seeking
employment by assistance in competing job applications, writing resumes and preparing for
interviews. Job referrals are also provided as well as Hire-a-Teen program.
FOSTER/RESPITE CARE provides voluntary or court-mandated program for children who
cannot be cared for by their own family and need substitute care. The program provides 24-hour
care and supportive services in a foster family home. Respite childcare assistance is provided to
families who are not able to provide care for their children.
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE provides assistance to soldiers and family incoming and
outgoing in to the new community. Information on any installation can be acquired through this
office; a loan closet lending service is available and welcome packets. Orientations are held
weekly to inform newcomer's and to prepare soldiers and family members for the change of duty
station.
ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF provides emergency financial assistance to Army personnel
and their families, needy spouses, and orphans of decreased Army members. Monetary
educational assistance may also be provided to dependent children of Army personnel.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES are plentiful within ACS and in the Fort Knox community.

program, adventure based recreation and an intramural sports program are provided for residents.
Children attend Hardin County Public Schools. The campus program involves cottage youth
groups in an incentive program with empowerment to help themselves by helping one another.

families facing cancer. Unlike Hospice, which meets the needs of the dying patients and
families, CARE focuses on the newly diagnosed cancer patient and those receiving active
