Shady Canyon Open Space
Shady Canyon Open Space
SWA’s concept for the project was to minimize
grading, work with the sites natural topography, and
preserve the rural character through careful planting
and siting of the homesites. The project preserves a
significant amount of open space with large sandstone
outcroppings, canyons and scenic ridges and extensive
site analysis and field work was done to ensure that
the goal of preservation was carried into all areas
of the project by using native plants, hydroseeding
extensive areas of native grasses and coastal sage
scrub, preserving significant rock outcroppings and
respecting unique landforms.
