Unpaid taxes become delinquent on April 1st each year. At that
time, a 3% interest charge is added to the March (gross) amount
for real estate taxes. Delinquent tangible personal property
taxes will have 1.5% interest and other charges added. Once
unpaid taxes become delinquent, the amount due is determined
when the Tax Collector receives payment, not when the payment
is postmarked.

The installment plan splits your annual tax bill into four
payments throughout the year and includes an overall discount
of approximately 3.5% on your total tax bill. The installment plan
is not an option for 2014 taxes, as the deadline has passed. To
enroll in the installment plan for 2015, download an application
at taxcollect.com, or call and we will mail one to you. You must
file the application by April 30, 2015.

Florida law allows anyone who can claim a homestead exemption
to defer property taxes and non-ad valorem assessments,
subject to age and household income restrictions. However,
the deferred portion of taxes plus interest will become a lien on
your property and must be paid in full when the property sells or
changes ownership. Applications to defer 2014 property taxes
must be filed by March 31, 2015.

your current property tax bill. Continued non-payment of prior
years taxes could result in the loss of your property.
